Does anyone know the name of the field in Lakeland,Florida that the 50 AAA teams will be playing on in Feb.? in the TOC, I am trying to get a hotel close by if possible?

I can not get anyone from the SSUSA office to return my calls or send me any info about the tourney, except what is all the web site, and it does not tell me much at all, I am not one to wait till last minute.

Looking at this website, under tournaments, click on Tournament of Champions. All complexes are named along with maps to each. In addition there is a long list of hotels. Looks pretty complete to me.

Thanks Dbax, I did not see the fields list till after I posted the note, last week the fields were not listed, still does not tell me which one 50 AAA plays on,I am not worried about the hotels, just the field to play on, I usually never stay at hotels they recommend, I can get them cheaper and just as good elsewhere, Thanks again, Rabbit

I don't know if they will change them up, but last year the AAA 50's played at the Diamondplex in Winterhaven and the Auburndale complex on the first day.

Just in case you all have not had the pleasure of staying in that area or know it well or at all. If you are playing in Winter haven or Auburndale (both nice facilities) Winter Haven is the best place to stay. Closer and easier to get to. One hotel not mentioned on the list for Winter Haven is the Holiday Inn Winter haven. In town and close to Diamondplex and not hard to get to Auburndale from there. Avoid Howard Johnson's in Winter haven Not good.

Lakeland all complexs are in South end of Lakeland. Holiday Inn Imperial Swan, Amerisuites and Best Western and LaQuinta are good.

Don't stay or book anything in Lake Wales. not good.

We play there six times a year. Like my second home

J3, I think the Holiday Inn is listed as Cypress Gardens. We stayed there last year. Nothing fancy, but adequat. The best part was you could walk to the Indians Spring training facility.

Hi too all, What Chris told me today is that they are probably going to play in different place this year, if 50's played in Winter Haven last year, they most likely would play in Lakeland this year, they wanted to move the age groups around this year, that was the best he could tell me, so I went to the Quality Inn at exit 33 on I-4 in Lakeland and got rooms, this was the third hotel i called, most are already booked up, peak season they say, rooms are not cheap either, but this hotel is no more them 10 miles away from all the fields even counting Winter Haven, so i took it, Rabbit
