Tapering a Bat
Is it legal to taper a bat handle at the knob or use a knobcuff, in any or all associations of Senior Ball?

diehard I taper my bat handles with tape at the knob and didn't have any problems with that at the NSA, SPA and SSUSA Nationals.

Tapering is illegal but knobcuff's are all right in SSUSA and NSA but you will have very few umps call it even in ASA where both are illegal.

Thanks Guys, I have taped my bat in the past but recently bought some knobcuffs because they are easier to remove if I was asked to do so . I looked for this ruling in all of the rules but didn't find anything definitive.

SLOBALL1: Where do you see that. I have the 2008 changes in front of me and there is nothing about making knobcuffs legal?

I also see no change for Rule 3 (J) that "addresses" this, but it is not clearly stated anyway.
I have not seen a player using a cuff or taper on a bat being told he could not use it.
There are those that have a rubber ring that goes on you pinky finger and around the bat which will come off the bat when let go and stays on your finger. Your may not able to use all the grips in some instances but works over all.
