I would like to know what 50+ major division teams will be participating in the SSUSA World Championships tournament in October. The Kansas City Barons team will be there. Brett Swanson - team manager

Brett I would expect the following West Coast teams this is a list from conversations and who we have seen in the big events, Palm Springs, Reno, and Salt LAke, Double Play, Wongs, MTC , East Bay Oldie from CA Coyotes from Utah, Mudhens from Colorado, Arizona MOB, Tuscon Bandits, Four Seasons and Goodman Racing, Marauders from Norhtwest. I don't have this from any of the teams just a list from some conversations when we played. If most go that is a nice list of tough teams. I probably missed one or two.

Thanks Lecak. Hopefully there will be an equally good turnout from Midwest and East coast teams as well.

Brett don't hold your breath on the east coast teams. The last three years the sswc has been a half a planet away for us(northeast teams)We are going to Vegas for the second year in a row and have been as far east as Salem Virgina south to TOC Polk County Fla. north to Milwaukee Wis. and a few in between.Except for you guys (KC Barons) I havn't seen any west coast teams east of the Mississippi.Travel for us is as expensive or more so as it is for the left coast teams. Why we have to travel 2000 miles every year to play in this tourney I havn't figured out.But after 5 long haul tourneys this year I don't we will be there. How about putting this tourney somewhere in the middle of the U.S. LOL out of DOE

Gekle, sorry to hear your team won't be going. We were looking forward to playing you guys again. We won't be going back to Vegas this year in November. We were extremely disappointed with the fields the 50 major division played on last year. It was literally a park and a very poor excuse for a softball complex. One of the fields we played on had a 3'x3' foot hole in the ground in left center field. I almost stepped in it twice while I was chasing down fly balls. An orange construction cone was placed in the hole in an attempt to cover up about half of the hole.

Brett we played in Vegas last year can't tell ya the name of the fields right off the top of my head but they weren't that bad.My only concern this year is why they would subject senior teams to August weather it would seem to carry some liability with this scheduling. Not very well thought out last year we played this tourney in the end of October, weather was great.Tell Randy I said hey.

Gekle, in my previous posts, I was referring to the SSWC in October and the Winter Worlds in Vegas in November. I am aware of the LVSSWC, but we have never played in it.

Wagon, read a little slower. No one said that they were a 50 major plus. 50+ refers to over 50. So 50+major division is what Angle Inn/Doghouse plays in. The KC Barons are a 50 major team and I believe the manager wanted to know who else in his division was going to Phoenix.

serioulsy, wouldn't it be redunant, according to you 50 + is 50 and over. according to me any thing with 50 in it is over. I see 50 + as 50 major plus. Maybe it just from my days playing major plus. Peace out

Wagon,
I didn't make the 50+ thing up myself, it just happens to be the way SSUSA does it. Look at the ratings page. So when the question was asked what 50+ major teams will be going to the SSUSA Championships in Oct., I knew he meant 50 major teams and not 50 major plus teams. All I did was answer his question, and my answer was correct!

Gekle - The reason why this tournament is going to be in Phoenix for the next 4 years at least is it's probably going to be 80 degress of beautiful sunshine, not raining and/or 95 percent humidity like back east.
