WALK RE: another senior assco.
I know the one you wrote about in my post to Mike, Kelly that's in CA . I also have a senors only assoc. I'm trying to get off the ground Central ValleySenior Softball Assoc.
www.cvssa.org not advertised or announced but working.
Chris's is primarily for the younger set. I know Chris and is doing great with that one. I Have contacted him about the possibility of woprking together to add a senior division but have not received a reply to the email.
He holds alot of tournaments down my way and recruited the parks mgr to reserve the fields for him as needed. Has 8-10 svheduled for '05 for the younger set. I've tried to get 3-4 for next year but cannot get a commitment. Something there at the park isn't all as it should be, IMHO. No listings to try to contact any other person there either. I have talked to the park mgr at least a half dozen times or more trying to get datres tor tournaments and a day or two for regulat league play. I may of got the day for league play, a Wed for next year but nothing in stone of times fees as yet. Still mumbo jumbo is all I'm getting.
Conditions are the same as last year uneven fields soft base areas and running areas, & holes at the plate. Uneven outlielf as well. Not the quality of a park where so much money was invested but not taken care of to make it right. I know i did this type of work for two different parks before on my own time and one church league with two fields I took care of totally for 11 years.
About the only park available is the Regional park Fresno has, 7 fields I believe. Lots of decent fields, just out of the way.

Taits,
Chris started the association last year with the yonger set to get it off the ground and he asked me to help with the seniors. E-mail him back as I will and tell him we will work together on it. I want to get this thing rolling.

Now I would wait a few days maybe even until this time next week. His wife is very sick and he is dealing with that. But if you tell him you and I will work together on it then he will e-mail back.

My e-mail is bwalker3@kc.rr.com e-mail me so we can get things rolling. I will also e-mail Chris.

I was just checking your web site and it looks good. Good Luck on your endeavor. We are trying this in Ma. but having no luck so far getting everyone together at one time.

I suggestion I have to reread you bat rule. Something is not clear the way it is written. I can't tell which bats are legal and which are not. It looks like something is missing in the wording.

Good Luck

I sent Chris a note the day I wrote this up and no reply yet. I work with NCSSA and ASA but ASA is not one that likes to change... But they know if thew want in up nor cal area they have to play with terms seniors want.
Fred: I'll check that out would no doubt need a revamp anyway. Thanks for the heads up. I haven't looked at it in awhile.

Fred:
As for the bats, it's supposed to read all allowed here and NCSSA . I'll have to read it and make changes if needed. Thanks for note and comments.

WAlk: Any word from Chris on your end about merging forces to give seniors another choice. Not that they don't have them now. But it seemsthere are alot of unhappy players out there. I haven't received anything outer than notice of cancellation of my touirney at Granite Park for some reason. Now going to Fresno Regional same weekend.
