Hi All:

I am going to order one of the new Miken Superfreaks but have not had the opportunity to swing one. I use a 30 oz U2 and was thinking of going with the 28oz Superfreak because of the end load. To the guys who have hit with the new bat does this sound reasonable? I was probably just going to oirder it from Kelly's unless there is a much better deal out there.
Thanks:
James

Hey James,
I'm on my warranty Super Freak already.
Got over 700 heavy, wet ball, too cold, mother-in-law swings
before it gave out.
The last 50 to 100 swings were better than any senior bat I've swung.
The ball explodes off that bat when you swing hard and hit it right
like no other I've swung.

Now, they all weigh different and this is where Kelly will help you.
Call him and have Anthony or Chris or Mike weigh it for you
and get you the one you want.
They can be a whole ounce heavier.
I got a 28 oz that was probably 29 and endloaded
it felt like only Stoneman should be swinging it.
Like it felt heavy.
My buddy got one from Anthony, a 27 that weighed 27.9.
My warranty is a 27 that weighs 27.52.

I swing a 30oz Combat and Ultra 2
but I'd say a 28 real weight, end loaded(these are more endloaded than U2's or Combats) should be very close to a good weight for you.
But call and ask to speak with Anthony or Chris or Mike
and they'll take care of you.
Tell 'em Einstein sent you.

Einstein:

Thanks for the help and I will call the folks at Kelly's as you suggest. I always liked the U2 and hit the ball a long way with it when I got it up in the air without top spin. I have better luck hitting the bottom half of the ball with an end loaded bat. I don't know if this makes any sense but it is the way i hit.
Thanks Again:
James

Hey Einstein:

I got it ordered this morning from the guys at Kelly's and they are going to get the weight I asked for. I need to figure out how to get it broke in up here in wet cold Washinton State. I wonder if 300 hits with good newer balls will get it softened up a bit. A few years back I had a Freak plus that was a bear to get broke in.
Thanks again for the help.

JamesLG I have a miken super freak and it didn't take that many bp hits to break it in. You'll love this bat.

James,
I've noticed something with my Super Freak that took me a while
to understand.
It's a stiffer bat until it gets to the very end,
the last 100 swings, but at beginning and middel
when swung hard, harder the better
the bat seems to compress more not unlike a thicker or heavier spring
and then you get max compression and the ball launches off the bat.
You can feel the ball go into the bat get sprung more than any bat
I've ever used.
It maybe because it's so end loaded it compresses more
than a bat with a lighter head.
A great bat.

I have been using a 2 year old Jeff Hall red Worth in the non U2 tourneys the last couple years and it has a lop of pop but the sweet spot is very small. It sounds like this Superfreak will do the trick. I am not that big but have quick hands so this should be a good fit. It is supposed to arrive next Tuesday and will let you know what I think.
Thanks:
James

When playing for Kelly's, a couple of years ago, in Salem, Oregon
we won a National Title in 50 major plus
using that Jeff Hall bat, exclusively.
Mike had a deal with worth and we didn't swing another bat
and most guys loved it.
The Super Freak sweetspot and pop
exceed the Jeff Hall.
Have fun and Happy New Year.

The bat arrived today and it feels like no Miken i have ever had. The end load is more than I thought but it feels like you can get some serious bat speed with it. I swing a 30 oz U2 and with the help of Einstein and the guys at Kelly's the bat I got is a 27.7 and it feels like it is much heavier. I can't wait to hit this weapon if it ever quits snowing or raining here in Washington state.
Thanks again:

Hi Jim:

How is your squad looking for the coming year? We lost most of our big bats this year because of a near fistfight at the Worlds last year. I did not go because of work but I guess going 0-5 and some fly balls missed kind of got the tempers frared up. It would be nice if this bad weather would ever move on so at least it would feel like softball is around the corner.
Hope all is well with you.
Thanks:
James
