Shaved bats & PPR
For all of you guys that think getting rid of the Senior Bats is the way to go. I played in a tournament in Big League Dreams this weekend, where there was also a kids tournament going on. I am not a Bat Doctor nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but I can assure you the kids did not swing one legal bat. The ball came off the bat like it had been shot out of a cannon and sounded like it to.

I hit one out of the Stadium with my MM Combat and kids were trying to buy from the stands, after my 3rd HR that game they were telling they had decals in the parking lot just sell it to them.

I can say even with Hot bats, the "old" guys hit as many HRS with stock bats as the kids.No U2's.

So for the naysayers who want to take away the Senior Bats, it won't change anything.

They also used the pitcher protection rule. It was interpeted differently by every umpire.

So you are saying we need to keep the special bats because without them everyone will cheat and shave whatever lesser bats are then legal?

Nothing like a lack of faith in your fellow seniors.

And some better "old guys" might hit as many as some lesser kids, but on average seniors do NOT hit with the same power as the kids. Just a biological fact of aging.

Dirty,
This guy definitely needs special bats to hit home runs. I was playing with the kids last weekend and watched him hit with the seniors. I've seen him try and compete with an ASA bat unsuccessfully. He is a much better with a senior bat. No question. That is why the kids were trying to buy his bat. They figured if he could hit it out imagine how far they could hit it with that bat.I know he cant succeed with a stock bat.

Sweet. Yep that is me alright. Since you did not post your particulars then I guess there is a reason you need your anonymity. Hmmmmmmm

I will swing whatever is allowed, but I won't swing an illegal bat.

Hey Mike,
You're a monster hitter and a better guy.
Don't let this anony-mouse jerk
have any play.
He, she, he-she, isn't worth the time
it takes to type a response.
Sounds like you're healing up, OK?
Any secrets, supplements to pass along?
My hamstring is still bad for 2 years running.

Can't speak to how this would work, but I swear by the Acai Juice from Eurobotanical. My recovery times have been great and my energy level very high. Expect for one brain fart game, I hit very well in the desert.

Get in the weight room and may sure you are doing stretches.

Just played the last 3 weekends in a row plus league 2 nights a week. Glad to have an off weekend this upcoming. Hitting the ball pretty well, still not running as well as I would like in recovering from my broken ankle, of course my fat "butt" probably has more to do with my running than my ankle.

Mike, Great to hear how well you are healing up. Two weeks ago I played in 3 divisions in Texas Championships. Won the 65 and 60 and 3rd in the 50's. I dont know how many games I played. Last weekend I played with the flat bellies and pitched 7 games on saturday in 100 degree Texas heat. Last year at this time it just hurt too much to play. Now, I bounce right back. Thank you ACAI
