My Chicago Classics 60+AAA team has voted on our 2005 tourney schedule. We are playing in "9" Qualifers and "2" National Tournaments. All "SSWC" and "SPA". We are going with Terry and Ridge who listened to our concerns and wishes.

I can see why your team has gone that way. With the bat and ball policies that the ASA and their sister organizations can only see teams are not going to play that brand of ball. Our team is going meet and go over our list of tourney and pick the ones we are to play in. You can not beat the SPA tournaments they allow 47 core ball and all the Freaks that Miken has come out with. Good bats and goods balls combined with the 1st class prizes that Ridge gives out you can't go wrong.

SPA allows Freaks????????
Is this true?
Last year no Freaks were allowed.
I looked at SPA's UNapproved bat list and the Freak is not listed.
Last year they used the NSA approved bat list.
Did I miss a change in policy?
Thanks,
Crusher

The SPA this year is going to allow the Freak, Freak+ and the Freak 98.Myself and Bruce fo Ga. attended the SPA meeting in Altanta this past weekend for their rules update. They when away from the NSA and their bat policies this coming year. This shows that Ridge cares and listens to the players wants.

Gary that is a great move. Wish I could do it but I have to play in the SSWC if I want to play Major Plus these new rules are killing me.

Don, Bruce e-mailed me and told me he talked to Ridge about my situation. He said he is trying to work something out. Does anyone know how to get his cell phone number? I lost it and would like to call him. The Spa is going to have the first worlds this year and I would like to play in it with someone.

It is my understanding that the SPA has switched to a .47/500 ball which is new from Worth, claiming that the .47/525 ball is no longer being made by Worth.

If true that will be a significant change in the Texas heat in July.

Hello Pro.
I have hit all sort of balls and do not believe there will be any difference in the 525 and 500 compression balls.
A ball that says it is 525 may only be 475 or could be 550 comp.
If you can hit the fence with a .47/525 then do not worry as you will still be able to hit the fence with a .47/500.

Crusher, with all due respect if there isn't any difference in the balls then why make a different ball?

THE PRO: Worth makes several balls that r 500 comp. or more. as of 2005, Worth makes 10 balls that range from 500 to 623 comp. These balls were tested by an independent testing group.
ASA has 5 balls, USSA has 3 balls, & NSA & ISA

Better balls means better ball.
Congratulations for standing up.
We need more of that both inside and outside of softball.
Way to go, bro.
