Oct. 14 Lefty Men's 75 721 posts | r It's hard for me to tell by just looking at a bat. For me the Utrip bats broke end are just 10 to 15 feet below the Ultra bats. I hit 300 balls a week and if I pick up a shaved bat or rolled bat you'll hear me say wow now this is a bat. Now a well broke end used bat will hit well right before it brakes. Like Dbax said look at the end cap. I had 2 brand new ultra's and hit much better than the other. But the better bat broke much faster with the same amount of hits in games. I think if you hit with this shaved bat you would know for I would say this can't be a legal bat. This is just the way I look at it and would not buy a fixed bat. |

Oct. 26 BruceAZ Men's 70 155 posts | r thunder, most sanctioned senior tournaments (SSUSA, SPA, ...) allow almost any bat including the Ultra II and MM Combat. Those 2 bats seem to be the bat of choice for most senior players at the National tournaments. Here in AZ we can use the Ultra II in most of the Senior tournaments all year. But, many of the leagues outlaw the Ultra II because in the leagues you have a mixture of ages from 50-70. Some allow USSSA bats and some leagues allow ASA bats. You would have to check with the league or tournament that you're playing in but that's the overall picture. Hope it helps, Bruce |
