One of the umpires at Menifee
First, I would like to congradulate all the teams I had a pleasure to umpire. The weekend of the January 9. I was in winchester seeing some great ball being played. From Socal Crush,Mustangs,Game On,R&R,Sidewinders,Showtime and others. And this past weekend January 16 some more great games. A nice hard fought game between NCI and Nighthawks. And Git R Done against SoCal in championship. I would like to thank all the teams for a fun experience. Good Luck to all in the future!

Our team felt that the umpiring was outstanding, the best we've seen in awhile.Including the World Series! One comment in our game at Aldergate, the umpire did not stray to far from home plate. But to give him credit every call he made was spot on!Duke, you are correct we did manage to beat a solid So Cal 55 team, however they were short handed,we are happy to take the win but recognize that we played a tough team in a close game. Also our division was balanced all teams were competitve with the equalizer. With our 4 wins each game we won was by 1 run. Can't git any closer than that!! Vince organized a well run tourney , Git-R-Done 55, 60, 65 teams appreciate his efforts.

I for one was so impressed with one of these guys he is being interviewed by Donnie to work our tournament in February. www.socalssa.com It's not often you see so much enthusiasm in officiating these days. Very impressive!

I'd like to add my .02 about the ump @ Aldergate this weekend.. He was absolutely horrible. He never moved from behind home plate the whole weekend.. Thought he had squters rights on that spot to left of plate, he never moved.. His strike zone was very inconsistent also. kept asking him about the height and his response would be it was right there, then the next batter he would call illegal on same pitch.. thats all folks

ON SATURDAY WE HAD THE YOUNG HISPANIC UMPIRE. THIS UMPIRE WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN SINCE I HAVE PLAYED SENIOR BALL. HE WAS AT EACH BASE BEFORE THE BALL WAS!! OUTSTANDING JOB.

That kid was very good. He did everything correctly, at least from the players perspective. Hustle, decisive, fair and great knowledge of the Senior game. There was never a doubt who had control of the game.

Its looking good for him to be officiating at our tournament in February 20 - 21. In Temecula. See you there too! How many of you are coming? Dont forget about the golf outing on Friday. Should be a fun weekend.

The umpire you are talking about is John and I complemented Vince on John and asked if he had done a senior tournament before and Vince said no. What this said to me is that he had done the homework necessary to know the senior rules. He was in position for each call he made. We were fortunate to draw two great umpires in this tournament - Les and John. However you ended up at this tournament it was a fare contest due to these umpires.

Ken, Go to Donny's website at SCSSA. They have some kind of golf outing the Friday before Temecula. The umps in Menifee did a fine job. Les is one of the best. John

John,

We should always tell Ken that their will be golf before a tournament, then he will be on time for the games.
