June 25 Gary Heifner 248 posts | This did not happen but it came up in a discussion today. Your AAA team has used it's one home run. The rest are singles. It is now the bottom of the 7th and the winning run is on third with 2 outs and there is a runner on 1st also. You hit it over the fence. It was stated that the rules say the runner on 3rd does not score. The guy on 1st moves to second and the hitter takes a single and is on fiirst. The bases would now be loaded with 2 outs. The contention was that on a homer that only counts as a single, the runners can only advance if forced to do so such as bases loaded. I always thought each runner advanced one base. Which Is correct???? |

I can not speak to other associations without looking it up, but if you tell me what association, I will try to find it. Now as always if you are in a qualifier, even if it is SSWC, and there is a tournament rule that states otherwise, you use that instead. For regionals and nationals, the rulebook applies. |
