| June 26 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Miken/Old South/Lill was awarded first in the 50+ Gold division. In round robin play we played some great games with Flip Dow Bonding, Sidelines, and Southern Softball, winning all three games. Congrats to all three teams for playing great games. In the double elemination play, we were placed with Bales Chevrolet and Faith Electric, both 55+ Major Plus teams. We were seeded second and Bales first, because of runs allowed. We defeated Faith and then lost to Bales. Our next game with Faith was a see-saw battle, with us winning in the bottom of the seventh, 50-49. We played Bales again and this time won. By then it was 11:30 pm and both teams agreed that Bales should take the 55+ Gold Championship and we the 50+ Gold Championship. Congratulations to Bales, GREAT HITTING TEAM! From what I could see on the other fields, Southern Softball placed first and Flip Dow Bonding second in the 50+ Silver division. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. The maximum of 7 runs per inning in pool play really evens out the teams. All three of the AAA teams played us really close games. |
| June 26 DoubleL10 Men's 70 907 posts | Bruce- Unless Bales has been moved up since their rating was recently posted, they are showing as 55 Major. Granted, they PLAY like a Major + team. I have seen them play a few times this year and have played with several of their players in past years; they probably deserve to be rated Major +. |
