it is a shame to go to all these world tournaments and have to hit sorry balls. when will the td's do something about this? i do not see why we can't buy the balls from the td and hit as many as we want to in a game. at least this way we will no excuse about the crappy balls. also, the td would be selling many many dozens of softballs to all the teams and making more money. it seems like a no lose situation for everybody. we can hit it for an inning or 2 and thow in a new won. this new ball could be the difference in winning and losing the ball game. oh well, this is just my opinion. what does everybody else think we can do about these crappy balls at the tournaments?
my 2 cents,

Different associations have different rules. Play in associations that have the rules you like. Last weekend we played in the WSA 50+ Nationals in Atlanta using the U2 and Decker 47/525 balls. The hr rule was 3 hr hitters.

I just played in another SPA tourney using the Trump 44/375 and the SPA bat list. Ridge is allowing a number of decent bats this year. It is not a super hot ball, but so far this summer, if you hit it on the screws you are rewarded with a deep carry.

Bruce, you are right, but how many more teams could the td get if they had good balls and you could hit as many balls as you wanted.everyone just wants to have fun and hitting bad balls is not much fun.

I'm in agreement about the balls. BUT, if you put on your td hat, if you let the upper level guys hit good balls AND have no time limit, the games are interminable. This spoken by someone who does play Major +! So, while we enjoy hitting good balls, the downside is the games are so long they foul up the subsequent starting times.

As you can see, I feel strongly both ways!!

DoubleL 10, wouldd you rather have a 1 hr time limit with great balls or play in a low scoring 7 inning game with 1 new ball and 4 old ones? i would rather buy the balls and play a shorter game with time limit than have to spend all that money to hit DUDDS.maybe something might be done in the future. how many teams could R.B. draw in manassas if he hit GOOD balls? i think a lot more than 2 55 major plus teams.
see you in plano,

I'd rather use good balls with a time limit. We have not been back to Manassas since the Houston Texans boycotted RB's tourneys in 2003 because of the crappy balls. I now play with Mission and we still won't go. No fun at all hitting socks in a so-called Major + class.

See you this weekend in Plano! Good luck to you and all my good friends on your team.

I agree, bad balls equals no fun which means we do not attend. Did not go to Virginia this year for that reason. We only have so much mpney to burn at nationals and chose very carefully where we will go. The bats and balls determine our plight not the competition. The purpose here is to be competitive and have fun. Quit limiting homeruns and use decent balls and allow decent bats. Limit times on games but let the homeruns fly! Please let my people go!!

Two of the better tournaments on the east coast is NJ and Deleware both SSUSA. Both allow Hr's and UII. No time limit on playoffs. Balls are good except for last year at Deleware the second day changed to 90 compression. The fields are very good. You donot need a time limit if you have a 5 run rule per inning and no limit on Hr. And it is safer for pitchers to have no Hr limit - less chance of slaming a ball up the middle. I realize it's part of the game but so is allowing HRs.
