Good luck to Damon's! Be careful guys, if you have played for another Senior Softball Summit association in a National tournament this year, you should be frozen on that roster.
For instance, if you played in the ISF Nationals for XYZ team, you can't switch to ABC and play in the ASA Nationals. At least this is what I was told.

Bruce...This is the 1st that I have heard about the frozen roster from organization to organization.
Since the SSWS has such different geographical guidelines than the others, how can they possibly do it. Do you remember the source of that information, and if so could you pass it on to us, the less enlightened?

Billy Mac: Congrats on your win at Cullman; great team. I was told by the SPA that the roster is frozen for all associations after Plano. We had seen some players in the SSWC/ISA Spring Nationals @ Altamonte & I was questioning their validity to play for a different team. SPA told me at Plano that since the SSWC/ISA was a Spring Tourney that the frozen roster for the major division did not apply. Whether all associations comply w/the frozen roster rule is a good question. I would like to know also. Last year JAH had to send in a frozen roster by June 15th; that is why we were so short at many tourneys; I was told that I could not add any players. I got so low for Plano, 9-10 players, that the rule book allowed me to add, of course I had to go thru the team release forms & get the Director's approval.

BillyMac, Tater is right. We were told by SPA that the Senior Softball Summit last year ruled that after the first national of any of these associations, rosters will be frozen. Springnational and Winternationals are excluded.
The ISF is the first national so, imo, this freezes the rosters. The problem that I see is that other associations don't abide by this rule. Its too bad that there isn't a message board that all Summit associations read and reply.

I must add that the ASA roster & I believe the USSSA (someone correct me here if I am wrong); the original roster has to be approved by the SD & then sent to the ND. Unlike other associations: most you can fax a copy.

Bruce & Tater...Wouldn't that rule mean that the Pine Knob team in Cullman had a bunch of illegal players, seeing as how they played for stafford in the ISF.

Here's another question, and I'll use Kelly's Sports as an example.
They didn't play in (and I assume they never registered for) the ISF, SPA, & NSA. Why wouldn't another Cali team (like the Mavericks) that was playing in one of these associations be able to pick up a guy or two who normally play for Kelly's. What I'm trying to say is that "If your regular team doesn't even belong to an association, why should you not be able to play with another team?
things are starting to get like a Chunky bararound here, thickerer and thickerer.

Billy: I got this directly from the SPA about no player could be on 2 rosters. If it was like it was last year, it seems that only 2-3 teams complied with the rule. I am like this Billy: if we are going to have rules, let's make them overall & concise so that we know what is going on. No need to come to a tourney & see guys that we have played against for years, prayed with, laughed with & then get into a tongue war over something. This is suppose to be a fun game, but if the rules are not made clear & we have odd rules popping up like the snowbird deal, it causes us to ask a few questions. Senior Softball as a whole needs to address a lot of issues; stamp them out in black & white; send them to ALL managers; then you all will have a copy when you arrive at each tourney. Again, great Cullman Tourney.

Tater...OK, Thanks. I'll take long odds on whether the associations themselves are all on the same page on this issue.
