I have just finished playing in Naples and it is just my opinion but the fields could have been in better shape. I never saw a field dragged in between games and there where some wicked bounces. I wish that the fields could have been at least dragged ever other game. Thanks Harry #20

Birdie,
You are absolutely correct. The batters boxes after the first day were horrible and the infields were not dragged at all. The base paths were hand raked only. Should've been better taken care for all that were involved.

Harry, AI33, We just got back from Las Vegas playing in the 65s. We played at Desert Breeze on Tuesday and Thursday and at the new Big League Dreams (formerly Freedom Park) on Wednesday. Needless to say, BLD was excellent since it is all artificial surface fields. Desert Breeze has artificial surface outfields but dirt infields. These fields were watered and drug after at least each two games and were in very good shape. Maybe y'all should go West next year!

Al33, I talked to one of your teammates Steve( I believe) and He said that you were on the team. He did post here before but got tired of all the BS. Sorry I did not meet you. Thanks Harry

Larry, The team went to Vegas once or twice and did not like the way some things were handled. I believe that we will try to go to Phoenix each year. I just hope all the games are in the daylight. Thanks Harry

Hey birdie,
Steve said he did finally get to meet you in Naples. We'll be around next season and I'll look forward to meeting you and talking to you in person. Have a good and safe winter.

Harry, If they played LVSSA, it is not handled nearly as well in the past as the Winter Worlds which SSUSA runs. I went earlier this year and played LVSSA and returned last week for SSUSA. There is a noticeable difference in how things are handled. However, I believe the SSUSA entry fee was higher. Now, I know you guys will enjoy Phoenix. I've been about 10 times and it is very nice. However, the fields are scattered all over the city like Vegas. So you will need to know which fields you are scheduled on before you make your hotel reservations. Know that SSUSA is very good about giving a lot of notice on field schedules so it is easier to plan.

Larry, The Phoenix tourney is all most always Posted well before we schedule our rooms. I think that is why we ended up where we did this year. Our original reservations were clear across town but we cancelled them for where we stayed this year. I believe what happened in Vegas was the team went to play at a field and could not because a local league was playing and then had to move clear across town. It was something like that and the team more or less said that would not go back. Thanks Harry

Harry, We had a similar experience in LVSSA a few years ago; we arrived at 7AM for BP for an 8AM game. I noticed that teams were hitting on the field we were scheduled to play on and had one of our guys go check. Come to find out they changed the schedules and did not call the coaches! I think we wound up playing at 1PM! One of my Texas teams was scheduled for like 10:30 and a couple of their guys arrived early supposedly to watch us play. They found out their schedule had also been changed - they were due to play right then! They scrambled and got everyone there to avoid the forfeit! Complaints were made to the tournament director - needless to say - and this guy had absolutely no clue. Left a very bad taste in many teams' mouths. BUT we still go back occasionally and they have changed personnel. So, it's all good.

Larry, I will vote for Florida from now on. Terri and I bought a house in Cape Coral this past year and really enjoyed the week down there. The drive is a little longer now that we play in Naples versus Cape Coral or Fort Myers but I can live with that. Thanks harry
