Wascaweey Wabbits
An old pirate friend of mine
who'll go unnamed but not unrecognized
told me that sometimes guys use
the same pseudonym on this website
to "have fun" with
and or make comments.
Like a tag-team in Pro Wrestling
and sadly as disingenuous.

This web-site system of SSUSA
invites 2 cultures and maybe more.
One is and the great majority of posts,
over 80 per cent of the posts
in fact,
are from identifiable senior players
(despite whatever stats OK
might generatea)
They/we talk to one another
with the mores of respect, responsibility and accountability
fully intact from American Culture
securing and undergirding
all communications and relationships.

The other culture is one that is
based in fiction, non-reality,
characters
and has no rules or mores but
whatever some creation who has
no accountable identity might think or say for whatever reason or effect.
This can generate dangerous, reckless
and non-responsible behavior
in and among the senior community
as we have seen.

Maybe there should be 2 boards.
One with real identifiable members
of SSUSA and/or the senior community
and another for characters, writers, clowns, comedians, n'eer do wells, actors and whomever
to use because at important times
these cultures don't mesh/blend
especially on
critically important/sensitive subjects
and could be the means to generating
unwarranted conflicts and antagonism
intentionally or otherwise.

Who should listen or care
when nobody talks?
No one, that's who.
One can be a nobody on this site,
slander and hang
but not with us.

People with character don't listen
when some anyone charges or slurs.
We don't.
The accuser has no credibility
in a charactered, valued setting
this is true American culture.
"Innocent until proven guilty"
undergirds our judgments and values.

The lack of values that has sadly
grown in American culture
has produced a gotcha mentality
and an unaccountable voice
that have found a place
where before, in better,
higher minded, respectful times,
they had none.
Loudness or being first
doesn't make anyone right
or worthy of recognition and credibility in a civilized society.
They don't.
That's a reminder that we are better
and know better regardless
of the setting or the rules
or lack of rules in any setting,
even this one.

We are senior softball players.
We've been through it all.
We know who we are and aren't.
We're freedom loving,
value oriented, inner directed
fair-minded and concerned for the well being of others, first and foremost.
We obey no one and nothing
just because it is written or said.
It marks and identifies us.
Makes us proud of ourselves
and who we TRULY are.

We recognize ourselves everywhere, too,
when and where ever
we play, live and travel.
We recognize also when someone is not of us or is 'out of character'.

We know when someone is fighting fairly
and when he/she is not.
We don't meaningfully cheat
and only respect truly fair fights.
We are bound
by our own code, first and foremost
more deeply than than the code or anyone or anything outside of us.

You can't run and hide yourself from us.
Not now or ever
'cause Nobody can resist the truth and
our truth.
Save it for the kids,
the fools and the ignorant.
They're more easily and readily
entertained.

Passion is the mark of profound truth in life.
Jesus was passionate.
Beethoven was passionate.
JFK, MLK, Malcolm X, FDR,
George Washington and Gandhi
all were passionate.
When sacred things are violated
by others
passionate people can react passionately
to preserve and protect themselves
and what is most important to them.
Jesus did when he came back from fasting and found "money" people
desecrating the temple and he went off on them.
This a good thing, if radical,
confrontational and disturbing at times.

We are passionate about senior softball
and will defend our hearts
and the heart of our game
from outsiders, clowns, pretenders
and entertainers.
It's what we're supposed to do.
Get used to it and us.

Often make comments on stuff
you don't read or understand, Rob?
That would make sense given what
you usually have say.

Stats are generated from truth. Einstein should do what I did which was to go back to the last 100 discrete posters (or last 200, for that matter). Look each moniker up. He will find that more than half (the vast majority) do NOT identify themselves. Oh, sure, some are Mike from Texas (helpful, huh?) and some are from California (but no name), but more than half choose not to identify themselves. And some who do identify themselves, like mad dog, wish they hadn't.

Am I wrong? All einstein has to do is go back over the same 100 posters and give us the full name, division, and location of 85 of them ("over 80 per cent" he says). Simple. Then I will admit that I was wrong.

And, of course, it has to be that EVERYONE can identify them, not just einstein saying HE knows who the person is. Maybe einstein knows who 800hitter is, but if I don't, there is no meaningful conversation (according to einstein).

Its so so much easier to ignore the ones anyone feels is worthless. And so much more rewarding knowing you didn't contribute to the nonsense.
That includes the nameless...Look how many years it took before dirty came out of the closet. But at least we know who he is, where he is and other info.

Omar,
You should know that stats can be geared to reflect the outcome by the wording of the author.
The only ones who really know about this site are the webmaster and the powers to be.
Does it really matter anyway?

taits, you are correct. How do we really know that einstein is Joe Rinaldi, especially if we play ball in Mississippi, for example? Only the webmaster has access to email addresses. I hope the webmaster doesn't let the same person post under different pseudonyms, but if they have two email addresses, that is also possible unless they are traced to the same computer (and if he has two computers and internet connections???).

I just get tired of einstein and his evoking of the "vast majority", especially in this case where any knucklehead can take the time to go back through the postings to 100 unique pseudonyms, click on each moniker, and see how many really identify themselves.

Does it matter? Probably not. Not to me as I'm happy interacting with others, whether I know whom they are or not. Going to Palm Springs in February?

P.S. In light of the supposed fact that Dirty never plays in SSUSA tournaments, has anyone actually met him? Talked to him? Had him pull out his driver's license for identification? Maybe Gary Sommers from Ohio is an alias and he is really an 80-year-old grandma from Miami? Just a thought.

Omar, I played in three tournaments this past season. Nice try, though (well, not really).

Dirty, as might be discerned from my posts, I am an old geezer with home run power due entirely to the special senior bats you mock so much. I join you in your crusade against these composites introduced less than a decade ago. I remain anonymous specifically because of YOUR warnings of about three years ago.

Congratulations on playing at the tournament level. Keeps guys from dissing you as a rec league only player. Hope you did well.

OK.
This is the kind of stuff
I was talking about.
You don't see the forest for the trees.
Dirty is Gary S and
Einstein is Joe R.
(Hey Gary)
There is as much likehihood that these
are false as the moon is made of cream
cheese.
Truth is a human concept, OK.
Takes reality and runs it through
being human as it colors, defines and grounds everything of meaning and essential to and for us.
We aren't functions of our intellects
subject to the intellectual uncertainty and ramifications
of the always next thought.
Truth is alive and lives forever,
defining, liberating, limiting and guiding us toward better,
more civilized living.

Anyone who thinks that you must identify to have an inelegant point of view is someone who is wrong most of the time and just wants to talk to people who will shake there heads yes and not challenge them.
I have asked this before WHY MUST YOU KNOW? You want to fight like
school yard children or send thousands of e mails and try to drive people off the site? I have all the friends I need if you don't then I suggest you go to a site to meet people. I don't want to know you I just want to read your ideas and points of view.
If you think because I don't want to be your friend or talk to you at tournaments or on the phone or thru
e mails that my opinion is no good then DON'T READ MY POSTS.
Thank You, GC

Omar,
I've know Joe ( aka einstein) for 13 years, used to play against him back then. That is his moniker. ÊI also correspond with him on occasion. He isn't afraid of posting his addy, nor am I, mine is all over as is my #.
I'm only aware of 2 t's Dirty has played in SSUSA T's some years ago, roughly '07. Not sure about the 3 mentioned here but it doesn't state SSUSA either.
He does live in OH. I also know his address unless he moved within the last 2 years that is & his email. The latter is posted on here somewhere, by him....
As for someone actually knowing him, I believe there is one but that was awhile back but I forget who.
As for monikers, I've said I don't care as long as info is worth while. Which as I believe you would agree not all is for the postings, either way. Perhaps its viewed as giving more credence to the post is slightly more valued or believable.
You gotta believe; a lot lately, isn't.

Gary,
Glad to read you spent the $money$ and went to a few. Down side very, costly, upside, playing & meeting the players, evens it out.

All ya need is the white picket fence.
Happy Holidays.

Scott, the other downside I learned a few years back is we often saw the same teams over and over. Just not that many that seem to play travel. And usually each weekend had the same results. Just pretty repetitive and predictable, I guess, as long as you play all the time in the same part of the country with what seems to be the same competition.

Yea, no fence yet, too busy paying for multiple colleges.

Happy holidays to you too.

Gary,
The same holds true here as well, in respect to same teams attending your pitted against. With that in mind each new year does change the make up somewhat and it starts over again for a somewhat positive new look for the game.
May you and your have a great holiday season also, thanks.
