Just finished Christmas Dinner: turkey, baked ham, roast, chicken/dressing, green beans, potato salad, mac and cheese, 7 layer salad, brocoli casserole, tea, coke and red velvet cake! other items I cannot remember. Half-way through, it all became a blur. Courtesy runner will be needed because of all the weight gained today!LOL

Southpaw, Sounds like a great Christmas meal. I wish that I could have helped eaten some of it. Well maybe not. I usually make two bags of stuffing at Christmas and Thanksgiving only made one today. I will try and run for myself next year. Merry Christmas. Thanks Harry

Wow, southpaw, what a feast! Please, please, please don't tell me that there were only a dozen eating this fabulous dinner, otherwise you might need a courtesy runner well into 2011!

I went for only one plate today (but it was a big one), flame crafted ham, two roasted chickens, mom's signature dressing, daughter's (20 weeks along, it's a boy!) mac & cheese, corn, mashed potatoes & gravy, spinach salad, cranberry sauce and Hawiian rolls w/butter & currant jelly. Don't even mention dessert! Only 7 of us and enough for 15. Grateful for the bounty and blessings. I don't know about a CR, but as my Cynthia always says, a stomach pump would be good!

Thankfully, there were 25 family members there for the feast. We could have fed 50! There were about 10 other prepared dishes and 6 desserts that I did not mention. My wife has 3 sisters and they and their daughters are all wonderful cooks as well as my wife and daughters.
I and the grandchildren sang "Away in A Manger" for everyone and then I sang "Mary Did You Know" before giving out presents to the grandchildren. No one threw any tomatoes, so I guess it was o.k.
Christmas is all about love, family, acceptance, forgiveness, and most importantly, celebrating the birthday of the ONE who makes it possible. Merry Christmas to the Senior Softball Family!

Well: I stepped up to the plate; solidified both feet; as I neared the table, I shifted my weight slightly to my back leg; tightened up the thigh muscles; slightly squeezed the platter w/both hands (had addition grip, but was not altered); end knobs on ALL of my utensils so that they would not slip out of my hands; loaded up for a full swing; as the food neared my zone; I rotated my back foot, took a full stride towards the turkey; made multiple contacts with the big ham; thought I did a good job in approach, drive thru & completion of my swings with my elbow to my mouth; NOTHING got thru the zone w/o me making proper/strong contact; but due to over exertion & too much adrenaline flowing, I injured myself & had to have a CR to assist me to reach the couch!!!

But ALL IN ALL: I vote; if it makes contact w/the PLATE; it is a Strike; cause I am going to make contact & eat it!!

Merry Christmas

Southpaw,
How did Birmingham make out with the snow?
We got over 5" and it's snowing most of today. Not that I'm allowed to go anywhere but we had prepared for folks to be here and that couldn't happen so I was the designated COURTSEY EATER and since I can't run right now I'm certain I need the CR.
I did get the 1 1/2 miles in yesterday and it was a chore. Put on the huntin boots and by the time I got back legs were tired.
Hope all is well with the family and we continue to pray for the grandaughter.
God Bless,
The Hitman

John, your technique sounded flawless. I do understand that your over-abundance of anticipation impacted your timing, but it does sound that everything turned out o.k. That is, if someone helped you to the couch afterwards.
Jim, we got a light dusting here north of bham. My grandchildren were there in Huntsville Friday night with other grandparents and all the snow was really a thrill for them. Take care of yourself. You need to be ready to go by March. Things are progressing slowly for my granddaughter's kidney transplant. Probably take place sometime in late spring. Thanks for your prayers.
