Don't want to add too much verbage to this post , but it has always bothered me that most umpires do not adequately call the situation where a runner blocks the DP throw to 1B, after the force at 2B, by standing up/purposley covering the view or etc. I've been at tournaments where the SS hit the runner, just to prove the point. I'm not sure I can do that. Sliding is a fundamental part of the game, which should be available, in stead of the "run through". (also see good notes on "Run Through" - 8/8/05 thread) |
