July 24 hheb 1 posts | Isnt it a shame to play and win a tournament and receive a hat |
July 25 birdie Men's 70 802 posts | hheb, This is just my opinion. I play to win the tourney. Winning is all the reward that I need. i have a closet full of dust collectors. I do have some nice jackets and shirts to wear. The bottom line is winning is the only reward that I need the other things are just bonuses. Thanks Harry As hot as it was a bottle of water would have been better than a hat |
July 25 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | especially after you have put out $500 if you had to travel to the tourney.i can get satisfaction by staying home and being with momma and not cost me that much.........well ..... |
July 25 Robo2 238 posts | It was a great tournament. The umpires were very good and so was the competition. |
July 25 Mazeroski9 1 posts | WHo won 50+ Major Division? |
July 25 ffdonnie Men's 60 137 posts | Oh jeez not another one. What do you want? Are you jealous you didn't get invited to the White House with the Giants? It's only softball, we play for the great fun of it. Or at least I do. |
July 26 wagon487 Men's 55 578 posts | Mid Atlantic won it. But the best story was the High Street Bucs. They started playing at 8, beat Omega, then a team from NY, then IMS DOGS, then ENR to get to Mid Atlantic. They did lose to Mid Atlantic but what a great showing. 5 games in a row in 100 degree heat. Good job guys!!!! |
July 26 oldnslow 19 posts | i'm with hheb on this one. no question that we all play the game for the competition and the enjoyment of being with friends, of a weekend away from the usual routine. There is a right way and a wrong way to handle tournament recognition though and an off the shelf hat doesn't do it. I would have liked to be able to present our sponsor with a plaque - which I know they would proudly display. Anyhoooooo - I do appreciate the tourny director taking the time to search us out and personally return a team-mate's glove that was left at one of the fields on Friday. Went out of his way - that's appreciated. |
July 26 2 posts | Full results for the 2011 Crabtown Classic were posted at www.PotomacSports.org on Monday morning. If you'd like to see who finished where, please take a look. With respect to awards, the top 2 finishing teams in each of the 9 divisions received a large sponsor plaque. Champions also received a set of flex-fit hats with the logo and tournament champion moniker (Hats are 2x the cost of t-shirts). For the 60/65/70/75 divisions, we used a drop down bracket format. Winners of the "silver" flight also received sponsor awards. 60% of the the teams playing in session 1 left with a sponsor award of some type. Thanks to all who played at the 2011 Crabtown Classic. I appreciate your support. |
July 26 oldnslow 19 posts | Hey!! I just checked the team picture - and right there in the middle is this huge trophy!! So individually we each got a hat - and collectively the team got a trophy which we will present to our sponsor. All I can say in my defense is that is was really, really hot. :) Good Tourny!! |
