Going back to the "polls" issue....
Spring 2010 issue of the Senior softball Newspaper

I find it revealing that when you have a chance to vote, maybe, on an issue and neglect to do so, please don't complain when the outcome isn't what you would have like it to be. Especially if your playing in that age bracket it was about.
I refer to the one "poll" that SSUSA put fourth on whether to play defense with 10 or 11 players.
I personally wouldn't call the "results" overwhelming but only a "C" grade.
73.9% of the 65 division mgrs answered it...
Of those 68 responders, Wow that's a lot...55.9% supported keeping 10 fielders while 44.1% wanted 11.
Wonder if the results would have been different if the other mgrs taken the time to respond...
We'll never know.
I wonder how the wording was on the valid question in that if the teams they play are still allowed to get 5 runs for lopsided brackets.
Good responses were posted for both sides but it is quite the SHAME that ALL managers did not take the time to ask their players what they want. A better response would have been in the 90+ at least.
The question I'm sure came into mind for this would easily have been why answer,Ênothing would be done any way...Probably valid.
for the mgrs who are younger nd didn't reply to it hope you found the fountain on youth.
for my self. Maybe not 65's but 70+ yes. I can go with the flow, its the same for both teams usually unless stuck in a mixed bracket.
Every once in a while a "pole" is cast out there....not that it matters...to some.
I think its very important to speak up especially in these types of matters. You will never know now if your time would had meant something.

Tait,
This is consistent with the American voter...look @how many people come to the polls to vote! Yet those who don't vote grumble the most! Aloha, Fabe

Played 65 last year in tournaments.
Played with a 70+ team in league with 11 players, therefore,
the other team had 11 players, they were 50, 55 60,65 age group.
IT WAS A KILLER for them to have that 11th player. I am not
so sure 70+ needs an 11 player. Most of the 70 guys I have
watch in past are fairly fast. Could be I am slow though.

Watching 75 and 80+ it does appear to me the 11 player is of
value to prevent undew stress.

I would vote NO.

Fabe,
You are more than correct on the elections vote. But in some ways, not many, they have no real voice anymore, The electoral college controls the major one, just not YET for the others. But would bet they are working on that too.
By any chance do you know any of the Enos or Lyons in the islands? Good chance they are related to me.
BTW but for which Aloha, hello, good by or love..lol. only kidding.

Crusher. That sure was a mixed bracket... I doubt I would like it at all other than being able to play a game for what it would be worth.
Our league here has 50's, 58's & 63. They keep changing the ages...

Fabe, that reminds me of a quote from Judge Judy. Paraphrasing here, "The problem with our country is the number of people who vote outnumber the people who actually work for a living".
I'm not certain if numbers prove that true in the real or softball world but it's a unique way of looking at things!!
