Michigan Senior Classic
We were late getting our entry in for a tournament scheduled for July 14-15.........The team is wanting to play that weekend since most of the guys have vacation scheduled for that date.....anyone have any experience (good, bad, or indifferent) with the Michigan senior classic qualifier in Lansing.......or do you know of any T's that weekend within 5hrs. of INDY....THKS

Corky July 15 Michigan tourney is actually in Flint. My experience with this tourney is that it's better than not playing but,I'd rather play someplace else.

Heart of Ohio was full.........can't find anything else....Maybe a better question to ask is where can I find a comprehensive tournament schedule.....I tried asa...usssa....nsa....spa....issa..ssusa....where do most teams look to schedule their tournaments???

Heart of Ohio has 85 teams (54 men AA/AAA)so I'm not surprised they are filled.

Best sites for tournaments are both the SPA and SSUSA sites..but as I tell everyone else ask that TD not just how many teams are coming but who are they.

Call Larry Milliron, maybe he can still get you in to Heart of Ohio. The only thing I know about the Michigan tournament is it is close to Ohio.

Corky, there used to be a site that compiled them all regardless of association, but that is long gone, probably too many tournaments to keep up with now. The deadline for the ISA Senior World is July 14. The Southern (Alabama) and Northern (Michigan) are two different weekends in August. The World Championships start in late August, and that will be where more teams will be than any other tournament. I receive information on a lot of tournaments that I will share if you want, but SSUSA is going to be your best bet, especially in Vegas. I guarantee that you would not have to play another Brickyard team there. I hope the boys from Syracuse will make Columbus; if not, I may have to go to the Northeast in early September to find them.

there are some that do that but all of them are only as good as the people who take the time to enter them into the site. www.softballtournaments.com & www.theoldscout.com used to be ok.
Think those are the addys.

The guy that runs this tourney keeps the info low key. The last one he ran in Lansing he combined two major teams in the 50 AAA with no extra players or runs given, they both battled for 1st and 2nd. While he had a two team 60 AAA bracket, a two team 60 AA bracket, and a two team 60 major bracket. I think he had it listed in USSSA website.

I agree with B-DUB.With the exception of the Northern Championship the Brackets are always a guessing game and in disaray at the Michigan Tourneys.

However B-DUB at the last tourney the 50 bracket was a competitive bracket without runs or extra players. Both of the "major" teams in that Tourney were not that strong. The finals featured a AAA team (Chicago Prime) and a "rated" Major team (Shereen) not two Major teams. The worst thing was that after the seeding games Bracket play was single elimination.

Corky. If there is somplace else to play. GO!

The easiest way is to call the TD and ask...if they don't want to tell you (AND YOU ARE A MANAGER!!!), I would cross the tournament off my list.

Two "beware of attending signs" are won't tell you who is coming and/or asking for non-refundanle deposits.

We always send out e-mails prior to the tournament telling potential teams what teams are attending (so if they want they can call those teams and verify if they are attending). We also list the scores and names of the team who attended the tournament (teams can use that the following year to check and see who attended the previous years).

Just little things but maybe that is why we draw between 70-and-80 AA/AAA teams.

SSUSA on their major tournaments and some of the qualifiers are very good about listing the teams who are attending the tournaments. That is one area where SPA is behind the game.

TitanHD--I thought a couple of players I know stuck around for the finals and said Doug & Dons played Shereen. It would be nice to see a finished bracket or better yet to be playing in the finished bracket!

TitanHD, what do mean "rated" Major team, not two Major teams? Also, it's spelled Sheeran!

Pricer. Sorry for the spelling.

We got bumped to Major and are "rated" Major by the association but, I don't think that we are Major team. That's what I meant. Do you think that your team is a Major team?

B-Dub . Chicago prime beat Doug and Dons and played (Sheeran)
Spelled it right Price!

No I don't think we're a Major club. We've played some Major teams and I don't think we are anything close to be a Major club. Great job on the spelling!
