I am sure you are working on the format for the different age groups for Vegas. Last year in Phoenix, the 65 AAAs had 11 teams and played "4" prelim games. That was far to many. There were teams physically spent before the bracket play even started and some just going through the motions the last several games. Saw a lot guys limping to the parking lot after the "4". I and I am sure others would rather see the normal 2 seeding games and let's get on with it. I can speak for my team that we would like to play for the championship with a few less strained muscles and more energy.

With all due respect, Gary, not all of us feel the same way. For most of us, this will be the biggest tournament we play this year, and probably the most expensive what with airfare, hotels, etc. Everyone goes wanting and hoping to win, but the fact is that 25% of the teams are going to go two and out. What a disappointment to spend all that money and get to play only four games (two pool and two bracket).

Sure it's about winning, but it's also about getting to play new teams from other parts of the country and meeting new folks. If I remember correctly you and I met at Phoenix once several years ago. The team I was with that year went two and out in bracket play.

I've done it both ways, with that team that went two and out and with a team that went all the way through the losers bracket to force the "if" game before finishing second, a total of 11 games. I've always wished there was one more game because I enjoy this tournament so much.

I'm only posting this because I know the SSUSA staff reads this board and I wanted them to know there is another viewpoint.

You will have "5" games for sure. 2 Seeds and you can lose your 1st 2 championship bracket games and you go into a bottom/low bracket and could come all the way back to win it all. I don't think anyone has done that and it would be one hell of a journey but you will get your "5" for sure.

I agree with Texas-T. The more games the better! We are a 65 team with 4 almost 70 players, and with the expense and being the biggest biggest tourney of the year, we can heal up later! We also want to play teams from other parts of the country, which we don't get to do normally. I respect your view point, Gary, however, I hope we get to play 6-9 games!!
