Let's say, Just "SPECULATIVE" of course, you are playing in a great AA national tournament and all the teams are very even except one that is winning most of their games easily. Between games you hear one of their players bragging that he is really a major+ player. Now, he might be telling the truth or just might be full of hot air. Just speculative of course because no one would add a major+ player to a AA roster, Would you say something? If so to who or would you just suck it up, take your butt whipping and get ready for next year?? Every AA team has 3 or 4 players that could play AAA on the right team. Isn't a major+ player kinda stretching it a bit???

No speculation about it. As discussed in other threads it happens quite a bit. We played a team in New Mexico that we beat (evenly matched) for first place. Four weeks later in Nevada we ended up playing the same Colorado team only about 1/2 (4/possibly more) the players were different.
Some major players were watching our game and mentioned there was at least 1 major+ player that they recognized + others that were playing down a classification that they knew of on this other team. We are a legitimate AA team.
It's happening more and more and the associations (although notified) turn a blind eye as long as they get their entrance fee all seems ok. Nothing is ever done and it needs to be policed to keep the integrity of the game intact. It also happens in other ways with teams being bumped up just to fill space in big tourneys even though they cannot fairly compete. It breaks up a lot of teams.

This happens all the time and will continue to happen until the associations start classifying players and use the computer to keep track of players and teams. All teams should have their rosters published online so everyone will know what players are on every teams roster. Then the players can find cheaters better than the associations because we see them at every tournament.

If tournament rosters were submitted electronically, they could be made available to all participating teams for review. The organizations could also quickly check to see that (1) each player was properly registered, (2) all players were of the correct age group, (3) players were not rostered by another team, and (4) players had not played in another skill level.

It's hard to imagine that with the technology we have available this wouldn't be doable. Age Group swimming has been doing this for at least 15 years.

How does a brand new team with all new players to Senior softball get classified? Would seem that this team could do just about anything it wanted to. How do those brand new players get catorgized?

INJURIES late in the season can hurt a team heading for the different national champonships, if your team is classified as a AAA team in the ratings list, then that team should only be able to ADD a AAA OR AA player from the same age group or maybe from the next higher age group. the added player should be reqd to fill out a form to be submiited to the tournament director or the association involved for "APPROVAL", the form should ask the added person,s name, team he plays for during the regular season, and what level his team plays. all associations ( except for LVSSA ) USE PLAYER CARDS WITH SERIAL NUMBERS, a quick call to any assoc. will determine the added player level of play. if the player fills out the form and lies, then the team should forfeit any games they won during the tournament. we all want to win championship rings, but we must play teams that rated the same . i have seen AA teams add AAA players, and have seen major players added to AAA teams. we can complain ,but the tournament directors are not enforcing this stuff from happening, this tells me that they are only concerned about the $$$$$ .
