Guys .... If the NFL has rules limiting touchdown passes, only 2 per game and then a team has to run the ball the rest of the game and you have a running clock with a one hour 30 minute time limit.

If the NBA has rules saying after 4 dunks a team can only shoot jump shots the rest of the game and a running clock.

If baseball can limit the number of HR's per game to one and then all are outs and a 2 hour time limit.

If golf rules say if you're more than 4 stokes ahead, the leader cannot use a driver the rest of the round and you have 2 hours to finish your round.

Then why can't we play with home run and time limits??? I really don't see any problem.

Doc .. thanks for the kind words, you are truly a class act as are the rest of the ENR bunch. Hopefully our little shortstop will come out of this better than ever. He was one of the last people you'd think this would happen to. During tournaments in our down time, me and Beaz head to the whirlpool and Roger goes and runs on the treadmill. Go figure.

BJ , Dave and Baer.. good to hear from you again. We'll pass along the messages and please guys, keep him in your prayers.

Thanks,

Murray,

Yeah it was a shock to hear about Eddie.

I haven't seen Soupie in a few years. He was still as fiery as ever playing senior ball. I will see Ed Rose in a few weeks and I will check on him. If I remember right, you played for Eddie around 1984/85. Back then I played with Sobyco and Instant Landscape.

Didn't you move out to the midwest .. Oklahoma? I think we played against each other at the ASA 1982 A Nationals in Tulsa. Ahh the years start running together. You used to hit the ball real well.

Don .. thanks for the kind words. I remember your team as being extremely spirited and enthusiastic. Obviously Sun Devil
colors if my mind hasn't faded too badly. Our game was very tight and I remember thinking the first team that blinks or makes
a mistake is going to regret it. We got a few lucky breaks and managed to pull it out.
Our first baseman was Dennis Willis who hit several huge home runs that weekend. But we also had another big lefty who was around 6'4 .. the late Eddie Sipe. Sadly Eddie was taken from us a few years ago. He was a powerful hitter and a good man.

Happy New Year,

Tate 22 … Don, I played with Caleb on that ASA 40's championship team. We were down by over 10 runs late in the Maroadi's game and some things were being said about having to play the "if" game before this game was over.
That was actually Bill "Soupy" Campbell that climbed the screen , shaking it and screaming, "Rattle rattle here comes the cattle!!" There was a stampede coming and we cam back and won. Ed Rose and I still chuckle about that day and Soupy who was a scrappy fiery infielder.

And for the record, Caleb was selected MVP that weekend. He is one of the best pure hitters to play and one of the classiest.

Seeding games we hit everyone .. from there it's the best 11 or 12. And if we get deep into the tourney, we get down to 10 or 11. That's about the time our coach tells me I am playing tailback. Like in get your tail back on the bench and keep the scorebook.

Gary .. This is actually an "open" roster tournament. What I mean by that is, this is the first tournament of the 2013 season. Guys that have not yet turned 50 but will next year (in 2013) are eligible to play. This includes current 48 year olds who will celebrate their 49th birthdays after the tournament. Or simply put, anyone born in 1963 or earlier can suit up.

Being this is the first tournament of the new year, technically, no rosters have been set. There are no qualifiers for Winter Nationals, just like with the kids. Anyone can play which usually leads to a good showing for Senior ball.

Many of us wish they would move this to the actual "winter" months and swap this with the TOC time slot. Between now and the "real" new year, rosters can and will change. The team you have at the winter national is not always the team you have at the TOC.
Of course, not everyone qualifies for the TOC.

Discussion: Ambush Review

Let me open by saying I am a teammate of Alan (Tri 18) on Team 1 Sports. I was able to swing both the 27 balanced and 28 end load Ambush this past weekend. I have to say I was very impressed with the size of the sweet spot. I hit a couple off the handle and the ball carried very well and out of the park. When hitting the ball on the barrel, the ball just jumped.

Bat durabilty is a MAJOR issue with me. For some reason I break senior bats easily. For this reason, I never use them in BP. Lately I am lucky if I get 3 or 4 tournaments out of them. Well the Ambush bats held up and the distance was as every bit as good as the Reebok and Miken. We, as a team hit them in BP all weekend and hit them in 6 games. There has to be over 500 hits on each of them. The bats still look brand new. Finally, this is the bat I believe is going to last and not sacrifice any distance.

Sal went home Wednesday and is doing better. He is up walking for very short periods of time. He will have the staples removed next Thursday if all goes well. He still has a long road to go to getting healthy again.

He is still in a lot of discomfort but is very glad to be home. He wanted me to thanks everyone for the prayers and kind words.

Sal was moved out of ICU late yesterday. When I saw him last night he was in good spirits but still in a lot of pain. He hasn't slept much and is very tired. He was up for a short while and today he is was supposed to try and walk for a bit to stimulate his stomach to start funtioning.

He says thanks to all for the prayers and support. He does not have his cell for those who have been trying to reach him. To be honest, he really doesn't feel up to talking much right now due to being uncomfortable.

Dale, I accidently deleted your number. I am sorry about that.
Believe me, all the prayers are appreciated.

Went to see Sal last night. He is in a lot of pain but as many of you know, he is a tough little guy. He is still in ICU. The doctors could not believe the size of the abscess and how he was walking around.

Thank you for all your prayers and keep them coming.

Congratulations to OKI on a great tournament. Dale, you guys are a class act. Same to ENR, well deserved champions in 50 Major. Nice job Doc.

Kudos also to TSC/Howards for playing well and coming up a bit short. Had a lot of fun playing against you.

Bruce would have been nice to talk with you. You are a gentleman of the game.

Our second baseman, Sal Amadeo was admitted to the emergency room Monday night. He had been complaining of abdominal pains Saturday while we were in Dalton playing this past weekend.

He had surgery today and is now in ICU. He had a huge absess that burst. They removed his small intestine & part of his large intestine. They are keeping him in a deep coma right now. They are watching for any leaking. Sal has Krohns disease and it flared up.

I will post the updates as I get them. Please say a few prayers for him.

Thanks,

Bill will be staying at Ocean's Reach on the water of course .. I always stop in to Curt's shop when I am "in town" and Roger is usually there.

Beaz .. yeah but that jelly fish had some guns on him!!! Wasn't fair they eliminated me from the best legs award because they said my calves were really steers, something you would know nothing about. Your legs are like your exes ... suing you for lack of support. I've seen better legs in a bucket of chicken.

Hey Bill. Where are u at on Sanibel? I will be taking my bod on the beach for some sun and stooping with several adult beverages nearby a week after Dalton. By faf it's my favorite vacation spot to get away from everything.

I have played ball in the past with Curtis Nave and Roger Tabor.

I don't know if Alan has really had a bagel in years. He is a working out fool and not too much of the "bad stuff", I so dearly love, gets into his system. Right now he is in training for a triathlon .. I can't even "drive" that far lol.

Beaz,

When did u become a comedian? At least I didn't have the nickname "Plus 40". That's what we called one of our other (he will remain nameless) pitchers because everyone hit the ball 40 ft further when he pitched.

Still remember Greg Gurrant wearing a towel around his neck in the outfield when we played against Starpath at the Space Coast in Cocoa. I asked him what was wrong and he said he hurt his neck turning around watching all the ball fly over the fence. My "buddies".

Alan, was he hitting from the pitcher's mound again?
