Discussion: Passing of Fred Purvis

I would like to add my condolences to Diane and the rest of the Purvis family. Fred was an exceptional person and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. I will always remember his dry sense of humor and wit. I believe I'm still in shock as many of us are over Fred's premature passing. I like many of you will have fond memories of Fred as we play this game that he loved so much.
Rest in Peace old friend!!

Discussion: WHO ARE CURRENTLY THE MOST POWERFUL HITTERS IN SENIOR SOFTBALL

Bogey doesn't have the leverage (height) that some of the other players mentioned have. However, he hits as hard and as far as any Senior especially 60 year old seniors.

Stick8
I was going for the home plate not a tag. It never entered my thought process to tag him.

I was trying to get back to the plate but I wouldn't have gotten to the plate before you crossed the line. I didn't see where you ran because of the focus on the plate. It did seem congested at that time. That's all I know.

Discussion: Nightmare bat approved

You have to know Kevin to truly appreciate this post! Putting the names of his friends on his bat and honoring them is really special.
Boo is one of the best and hardest working hitters in the game very deserving to have his name on the bat for many reasons.
Nightmare swings different than any bat that I have swung. It really has a great easy feel and I have had several other people comment on it as well.
Thanks Kevin appreciate all you do for Senior Softball.
Nancy your a special person as well!! Hang tough.

Very impressive group of new HOF members!! Bobby has been playing at a high level with great success for many years and glad to see him get a well deserved nomination.
George really deserves this nomination as well for his playing ability (great infielder, outfielder and hitter)and his unassuming but competitive nature on the field. True gentleman of the game!!!
Mr. Mike is one of the hardest hitters in the game and one of the true power hitters. He is also know for his clutch hitting and is a true competitor of the game and represents the sport well on and off the field.
Congrats to all!!!

Nancy,

Dennis was a great person who treated everyone the same. He helped Indy softball tremendously and he will be missed. Unfortunately had seen him in years but very positive memories of Dennis.

Can't condone cheating but when the balls are as bad as they are in Sacramento teams will do things like this.

Discussion: Hitting

Listen to Bruce and Mr. Manassas two exceptional hitters- take lots of batting practice with purpose. Don't just swing away but have a goal or weakness that your working on. Paco I agree you have improved tremendously and you make a great point about pitch selection.

Discussion: combat dirty g3

I swung the Dirty as my main bat last year and hit well with it with good endurance. I was able to swing the new Dirty and thought it was a much improved version of the older Dirty. I also agree about Kelly Sports. Mike has always been more than fair to deal with. Looking forward to the new Dirty two piece bat.
