Discussion: 2008 TOC 50+ AAA's

Kaysons 50 AAA is not going to attend.

We could only field 12 players. 10 healthy players and 2 with restricting injuries. A team vote has us not going now.

We tried to make it work but we felt we should pass at this time. Hope we get another shot next year.

Good luck to all wish we could be part of it.

Figures finnally get the brackets up and we are at the Lee County Fields instead of the Cape Coral Fields.
The people seting up the hotel as late as Thursday had us playing at the Cape Coral Fileds so we are on the otherside of the bridge from the fields. Not such a big deal but now we have to pay a $2 toll everytime we cross the bridge and it will take longer to get to the fields.

Hope it all goes well from here on.
Everyone have a safe trp see you there.

Can a player who is just getting into senior ball get their SSUSA card at Fort Myers or do they have to have the card before they get there?

The extended has very few swings on it.
Maybe 100 or so. It's a 27 oz.
Since I had a back-up Freak I traded a pretty old Freak for it. Excellant shape. No warranty on it.

Looks like it's going to be a great tourament! Hope we get good weather.

13 AAA
2 Texas, 2 Ga, 1 Alabama, 1 Indiana, 2 Iowa,
1 Arizona, 1 Flordia, 1 North Carolina, 1 Tenn and 1 Kentucky

2 55 major (50aaa) teams 1 Kentucky and 1 Illinois

Good luck to everyone and hope everyone stays healthy. Did my whinning now it's time to play ball!!!!

We got lucky and have to play Indy Thursday Morning maybe they will be tired from the drive Wednesday. I kind of doubt it.

See you Rabbit good luck. Hope we make it a game for you. We sucked it up in Burlington. Played our worst tournament of the year scored only 1 run in one game and 5 in another. Nobody was hitting. Saving it for Dalton I hope.

Discussion: Why do Seniors have to Cheat

Hi Fred,

The freak 100 may not have been altered if it was a 26oz.
I had 2 Freak 26oz bats one that I purchased new and one I traded for. On the one I traded for I was using it and I noticed the plug in the bottom was missing. I guess it's rubber and had fallen out. I asked someone about it because it didn't look like it had a rod in it and I was concerned it may have been altered and I did not want to use it if it was. They said the 26 oz freak 100 comes without the rod. It's only used in the bats over 26oz. I hope that it's true. Anyway I traded it for another bat and I;m using the freak I purchased new now just to be safe.

I'm not saying they can't be beat and you guys and the Classics are exceptional teams. What about the teams that were AAA and got knocked out of the tournament by a 55 Major team. How do you think teams are going to feel if they get beat by a 55 major or a 60 major team playing down. From what I hear both of these teams are very, very good and are gong to send a lot of good AAA teams home. Teams pay their money to play other 50AAA teams not some Major team that wants to try to win some title in a lower bracket. Huffman Electric is doing the same thing. This is a AAA AAA national not a Major National. That was in KC where they should have gone.

I have an idea let all the teams that are dropping down from Major play each other they can have another Major National in Dalton.

I still have not heard how a team can be rated Major and AAA but in looking at the ranking there are several like that. I really hate making a stink about stuff like this it aways comes back to bite you in the a_ _ in the long run.

I did look at the ratings and that was how I found out they were 55 major. How can a team be rated a major team and a AAA team? Now I can understand how a team that has won the AAA nationals and then played in several tournaments and they could not compete and definately did not deserve to be a major team. They get dropped back down in the lower classification. It happened recently to the Ind Classics, Metro Stars and Southern Softball. But how can a team that won the SPA Nationals last year and this year plays and wins a 55 major tournament and be qulified for the Tournament of Champions as 55 major and still be allowed to play in the AAA Nationals at the 50 level? Any way you put it it's not right.

I could be wrong on this but I think Jim and Joes is classified as a 55 major team. They already qualified for the Tournament of Champions this year as a 55 major team and I also know they won the SPA Nationals last year as a 55AAA team. Why are they playing in our 50AAA SPA Nationals?
Again if I have this wrong I'm sorry for wasting everyones time.

Hi Rabbit,

You are correct the tournament will be very competitive with a bunch of good teams there. We don't need to be playing a 55 major team though. They need to get them out of there and give them their money back.
