March 13, 2007 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: pulled leg muscles pete88 - I have also had hamstring problems since my early twenties. This was brought on by an injury to my lower back as a result of a car accident. I do a lot of stretching exercises year round. During games, I don't sit for long periods of time and try to stretch between innings. What I have found to be most beneficial are neoprene thigh wraps. I wear them on each leg to support and keep the muscles warm. I wear them under my compression shorts. These wraps have allowed me to play when I otherwise wouldn't have been able to. I am an outfielder, so I need to be able to sprint and make sharp cuts. I swear by the neoprene thigh wraps. Good luck! |
Feb. 27, 2007 leftyodoul | Topic: Bats Discussion: Remedy for Altered Bats I put a cuff on each one of bats so I can hold the bat with just 2 fingers and "in theory" extend the length of my bat and increase my power. I doubt that all players would want to use a bat cuff. It is just a personal preference. Therefore, I wouldn't be in favor of this rule. I feel that just the threat of a lifetime ban would deter most people from bringing an altered bat to a tournament. There is technology out there that allows for something (a bat) to be scanned to determine wall thickness and the presence or absence of a rod in the inside of a bat. Maybe it is time for associations or bat companies to invest in this type of equipment and make it a requirement at any and all major tournaments. |

Oct. 3, 2006 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: It's Time For Our SSUSA Msg. Board To Achieve Full Identification Disclosure! I can see both sides of this issue. I have been monitoring the USSSA Washington website for the last few years. There seems to be a lot of bitching and accusations. A lot of those comments are made by individuals who are reluctant to take responsibility for their comments. They hide behind their alias. Maybe, if they had to actually take responsibilityfor what they say, they wouldn't be so outragious and irresponsible. On the other hand, I understand the mindset that others feel they should be able to express their views without the possibility of retribution. Just the same, I value the input of those who will pen their name to their comments (whether I agree with them or not) much more than those that hide behind an alias. |
