Discussion: TOURNAMENT WINNER AUTO MOVEUP

We are a team that was formed in 2006, we won the Worlds last year in our division. In the past we won a few ring tourney's with just a couple of teams in our division, we were not moved up. But when we won the Big One last year we not only expected to be moved up, we wanted to be moved up, we earned it! We figured let's prove that we belong in the higher rated division. The teams we play against will prove it one way or another!
SSUSA, IMHO, has it right. You win a major tourney then play out the new rating for a year. I would rather win the major tourney than to have not won, it is more than worth the move up.Winning isn't everything, however it does beat losing. But in the end, I am grateful to be able to play and enjoy the Senior Softball Community, winning a major tourney, well that is Just Icing on the old softball.

As a manager, if a player wants to be released I accommodate him. If he doesn't want to play with my team so be it. Most likely he isn't a fit so best for both of us.It is to much trouble to be vindictive and hold him back, I say be on your way.LP, I admit I would be tested by what happened to you and your team, but I would release him and hope to play against him to whup him by shutting him down and winning the game!

Discussion: AGE & RATING MIXING AT TOURNAMENTS????

Just played in a local Tourney in Temecula, Ca.We had 3,55Teams in our Bracket 2AAA,1AA.Because of various reason's our team was prepared to back out of the Tourney as we were down to 7 player's.We scrounged around and were able to add enough player's to field a team of 11 player's, for each day.Problem was 3 were under 55,(between 52 & 54) we advised the Director, who encouraged us to play so that they would have at the least a somewhat viable 55 age Bracket. We played 5 games 2 were against 50 AAA we turned down the 5 Run equalizer, played them straight-up. Against the 55AA we gave them the 5 Run equalizer they played us very tough. In the Championship Game we played a 55AAA Team who are a very solid Team in our area. We gave them the 5 Run Equalizer as well.Bottom line is if you are just in to Winning, then I have found that you will grasp on to any excuse to favor your Team. If you "Play For The Love Of The Game", you will look at the hand you are dealt, play with that competitive SPIRIT, and be grateful that God as Blessed you with the Health & ability to compete! In the end this is The Toy Department of Life, GIT Out There & Enjoy it! There is always tomorrow,God willing :0)TOMAR Git-R-Done55

Discussion: WHAT TEAM DOES EVERYONE PLAY FOR

Started with the Inland Empire 50's So Cal. then to Full Count OC So Cal briefly , hooked on with Base Hawgs Simi Valley So Cal ,good times! Retired for a year, then my friend John Fletcher told me about the Titans Inland Empire So Cal needing player's played with a new good friend Harv Lorette , they disbanded under mysterious less then honest circumstances. Formed a new team with Don Reddig , Git-R-Done. Had a good time end up splitting due to difference in philosophy. Continued on as Git-R-Done. Martha our GM , and I with the help of Gene Dick and many other's have grown Git-R-Done from 1 Team to 4 Teams ! 55 , 60 , 65 , 70 and we are currently looking to start a 75 's Team we have 7 player's that are still living so need some more to round out the team while they are still alive ;0)Love the Game , Comradeship, and Competition. Our MOTTO is "Softball For Life". We actually live the Dream!Enjoy our relationship with SSUSA , look forward to many more years!

Agree with the,
1.White/Orange Bases at 1st
2.Strike Mat
3.0/0 Count
4.2 Home plates
5.5 Run Equalizer (or 11 players)
6.5 Run Innings (till the last Inning)
7.Couresty Runners current RULES.

Get a LIFE ! If you don't like the rules go elsewhere , it ain't Rocket Science. So make your own decision. I am all for debates but as stated earlier the POOR HORSE IS DEAD! Get over yourselves and move on.

Enjoyed the good weather, but let's cut to the "chase"!SSUSA,staged a Terrific WS Tourney. The Umpires were generally spot on!The Director's were responsive and engaged. Joe & Don were on top of their game at Rose Moffett Park, they were,up beat, and accessible with quick decisions, when necessary. The competition was tough making for close competitive games for the most part.A shout out to Bob's Classic,Utah our Brother's in Rivalry. We both as usual played a hard fought game,we caught the breaks, and were able to pull out the win,our respect to you guy's is well placed, you guy's make us better! To all the Teams we played, you were skilled competitors, worthy of recognition,we thank you for the E-Ticket Ride.Your efforts made our success even more suprising and rewarding. As we leave our AA Ranking,we know how competitive the AA Teams are & will continue to be!Congradulatios to Terry,Fran,Dave & the rest of SSUSA for putting on a Professional Senior Softball Tourney.

Hey Pricer , not a problem , apoligies not necessary. As you might surmise I enjoy this Great game and have the impression you do as well.
Gary19 , I guess I am being contraian. You of course are entitled to your opinions, to be clear I am not saying all of your post are negatve , it just seems so many are.You do what you must. Might want to lighten up a tad on belittling those that are actually playing,SSUSA. Your call.

Pricer, to answer your question as to Managerial experince. I have managed local teams , since the early 1970's. In Senior Softball I started the Git-R-done Softball Clubs , we currently have 1 team each at the, 55,60,65,and are starting a 70's team this year. All our Manager's follow a Club Manifesto , written primarily by me. So I have enough experince to at least express opinions. All of us are entitled to our Humble Opinions. It sometimes just gets tiring and boring when we have a few "one trick ponies " who are not interested in improving our game , but have constantly badgered the game and its participants! Again I happen to believe Gary19 is a contraian whose main game is to be disagreeable , per his many posts.
