Feb. 4, 2011 rwells1500 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Broken Ultra 2 Yes it was my broken Ultra2. It would have been funny if it hadn't been my bat! My girlfriend and I had used the same Ultra2 since 2005. Unfortunately many in our league's members borrow instead off buy, so with a little help from our friends that one broke in 2010. As for the one she broke in practice a couple of weeks ago, I pulled it out of the closet where it had set since 2005 (bought a set in 05) and, well... I got a little creative (rough) in the break-in process. That plus the fact that I was having an issue with hitting on the taper all month in December probably didn't help. So when it broke on her in that exact spot it didn't supprise me much. |

Jan. 21, 2009 rwells1500 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Houston has closed GT, I did not intend to upset you. I truly wish you the best of luck with your tournament. Its just that naming your thread "Houston has closed" sounded like the Houston tournament at Bayland. 26 teams, wow! It sounds like your really going to have a busy weekend. Again, best wishes with your spring tournament in Pasadena. |
Jan. 20, 2009 rwells1500 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Houston has closed Hi Greg, I need to clear up some confusion. I received a call from a manager that thought this posting meant that the 6th annual Houston tournament at Bayland Park was full. To clarifya couple of misunderstandings he had. 1. Although the Feb 21 tournament in Pasadena Tx is full, as GT announced. 2. The HCSSL league located at Houston's Bayland Park hosted the Annual Houston spring tournament for the past 5 years. This year we changed the annual spring tournaments name from 'Early Bird' to 'Spring Classic' to match our 'Fall Classic' tournament, but the place and people are the same. Greg at Pasadena is hosting Pasadena's first spring tournament their and taken on the tourney name that the HCSSL used before changing it. Greg did organize most of the old Houston tournaments when he was our tournament director. Greg always throws a great tournament. Together these two Texas leagues show players what southern hospitality is all about. Many Houston players will be at both tourneys. The Houston 6th annual spring tournament located in the HCSSL's Bayland park in Houston Tx is still taking team's for February 28th. If you didn't make the Pasadena tourney or want to make both, feel free to sign up while you can. Full details are available at WWW.HCSSL.ORG from the tournaments button or contact me, Robin Wells: tournaments@hcssl.org |
