| Jan. 4, 2010 GT Men's 60 162 posts | Who What Where? Can we drop some of these long long threads and start something new. Who is playing where in Jan. and Feb? Any local tournaments or anything? We are having a local in Pasadena, just east of Houston, in Feb. Who else is doing something? GT Houston |
| Jan. 4, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | GT, Great thought. We are planning on playing in it agin, we have played in it for several years and always had a great time. Tanel360/Bud Light of Austin over 60 AA |
| Jan. 4, 2010 BruceinGa Men's 60 2453 posts | Paradise Const. is playing next weekend in Savannah in the SSAA Winter Worlds, Class D. Kayson Grille, 50 AAA(some Paradise guys) will be at the TOC as will my team, Miken/Anaconda Sprorts, 60 M+. The week after the TOC I'll be at Classic Spring Training in Jax. The fourth weekend in Feb I may drive down to watch Randall Boone's tournament in Savannah. I'm not sure of this date. |
| Jan. 4, 2010 DoubleL10 Men's 65 769 posts | Greg, When in February? I hope I can talk someone into picking me up since Turf Pro is no more. I'm unafiliated in 2010 at this point... |
| Jan. 4, 2010 GT Men's 60 162 posts | DoubleL10, its Feb. 20th and possibly the 21st. Last year we had 26 teams. If we get close to or that many again, will be two days. I did put out a recent message again yesterday and had two guys who wanted to get picked up and play. Next message, will add your name. I am sure there are teams that might want you. Only draw back is most teams usually want someone who is playing full time. Some team might want you for that weekend only. Will let you know if anyone does. Otherwise, I know a 50's AAA team that might be interested in you full time. email me and we'll chat about it. #6, I remember you with Tanel and am hopeful you guys will be back. Always great to see you guys and pray the rain stays away this time. First time in 6 years it rained that weekend. This is number 7 and should be good luck. Should warm up by then. brrrr. I regards to who else is doing something; Houston's HCSSL (HCSSL.ORG), will be holding its spring tournament on the following weekend, the last weekend in Feb (Feb 27). RW Houston |

| Jan. 23, 2010 DoubleL10 Men's 65 769 posts | Bob, Bill told me a couple of months ago that he won't be doing anything until the summer at the earliest due to family and job issues. A bunch of our guys (Howdy, Dewayne, Jim Gibbons, Ron Pelligrini and Clay Stephens) will be playing with Ox on the new 60 AAA Texas Legends team. Jack, Thanks for the info; I'll contact John Hughes to see what's going on. LL |

| Jan. 24, 2010 LP 251 posts | if anyone is looking for some good players in the 60's division three just got cut for tanel. one is a pure lead off hitter that will bat around 800 every game. another is and outfielder that was our best one will bat 700 plus. and one is a good first baseman bats around 600. anyone froming a team or needing players these guys can nd will help a team. i know what question will follow why did they get cut. i'm still wondering that myself but thats a coaches decision. and you only have one coach to a team or you have chaos. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 JBTexas Men's 60 221 posts | LP, I think both SA Mission/Bobby J and texas tornoedoes(gary kirk) are looking for solid players for this year, can get their numbers by checking SASSL.org. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | JBTexas, If I were them,I would contact the coach of Tanel,Gary Bowles and see why they got cut. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | LP, Don't you think this is a slap in the face to the coach of Tanel. Why don't you talk to him via e-mail or the phone and he can tell you why they were cut.You have his e-mail and phone number. Their big boys, they can find a team to play for without your help. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 lemons Men's 65 267 posts | In the years I have played senior softball, I can't remember any team for which I played cutting anyone. Maybe there's a shortage of players in Indy, but I don't think so. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | lemons, Like you said,there must be a shortage of players in Indy ! |
| Jan. 24, 2010 butch17 Men's 55 415 posts | Not a shortage of players just a lot of loyalty between coaches and players. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 lemons Men's 65 267 posts | Butch, For some reason that's part of what we believe the game is about. Thanks for mentioning it. Mel |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | butch17 and lemons, All I know is there we some differences between our coach and the 3 players.I know one couldn't play a lot because of work, and the other 2 were because of their attitudes.Has nothing to do with loyalty,it was about committment and attitude. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 butch17 Men's 55 415 posts | #6, Didn't mean any thing about your situation was just commenting about no shortage here of players. Good luck in finding your guys and I'm with you deire, committment, and attitude. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | butch17, Good luck to you too.We already got the team together,just waiting for our first tournament in Feb. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 LP 251 posts | #6 this was not intened to be a slap to anyone just help find them a place to play they dont get on this site and this hopefuly will help them locate a team. chezz you austin guys are sure touchy i did forget to mention that they are Texas players. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | LP, NO COMMENT |
| Jan. 24, 2010 JBTexas Men's 60 221 posts | wish you CC and Austin boy's would fight nice, gives Texas a bad name. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 pushin60 Men's 60 63 posts | Hey, #6 in what way should what LP said be construed as a “slap in the face to the manager of Tanel”? All he was trying to do is alert other teams to the availability of these players. Lighten up. |
| Jan. 24, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | pushin60, First and foremost,he could of just said 3 guys looking to play over 60 out of Texas. No need to bring the team name into this at all.Second if he doesn't know why they were cut and wanted to know, why not do the right thing and go ask the man that cut them. I played with all 3 and there good guys, just don't think putting the name of the team here does any good |
| Jan. 24, 2010 lemons Men's 65 267 posts | Kenny, Committment and attitude are also a big part of our game (and of loyalty). I didn't mean to sling mud or imply any unjust actions. Regards, Mel |
| Jan. 25, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | lemons, no problem, its' just this has been a touchy subject since we played in Vegas. Good luck this year, Kenny |
| Jan. 25, 2010 JBTexas Men's 60 221 posts | Kenny didn't you guys win in Vegas after being moved down to AA after Phoenix?? |
| Jan. 25, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | JBTexas, Yes we played really good as a team and won Vegas and a birth to the TOC in 2011.For whatever that is worth. |
| Jan. 25, 2010 E4/E6 Men's 60 847 posts | Gt Looks like your short thread has a life of its own too. Now what? |
| Jan. 29, 2010 #6 Men's 60 1163 posts | GT, How many teams do you have now and how many are you trying to get? Kenny |
| Jan. 29, 2010 GT Men's 60 162 posts | #6 Have 10 in the 50'55 bracket. 8 in the 60/65 bracket and have 3 for sure as of now for the 70 bracket and expect one or two more for this bracket. If the other 2 70's come, that is it. Will be 2 days. Pushed the limit last year and hope not to do that again. I now some wait to sign up, but 22 or 23 is good. GT Houston |
