Discussion: Who is your 'best hitter'

Bill Gateley is still in our eyes the best 'pure' hitter in senior ball. I have a video of him hitting - even Doc from SSUSA agrees that he may be the best.

Here in Colorado Springs we have Larry Anderson, age 60 that can hit to any field almost every time. His bat control is off the chart. No matter where or how we pitch him the ball ends up in the green and he is standing on base.
A great hitter indeed.

Discussion: Rip It Elite Question, Re: Sanctioning by SSSUA

I just heard rumor that Rip It will have a new senior 1.20 bat. Fully accepted by SSUSA and all other senior leagues. Rumor is it will be out this summer, same pop but longer lasting. Not sure about the color. We really like the yellow one and if it is going to have the 1.20 stamp and think they will have a winner.

Discussion: Great price on a COMBAT X-3.

Stoneman; I am confussed with all these bats. The Rip It we use is black and has the ASA stamp on it. I have not seen the yellow bat you are talking about.
We had compared the black Rip It ASA bat to the Combat AV and picked the Rip It.
From what you have said there is a yellow Rip It but it appears not to have any stamps on it so I guess we cannot use it at all. Thanks for the info and I really enjoy your post. They are full of information useful to us all. Keep up the good work.
If I see Bill G. this week I will ask him about this yellow bat.

Wondering why you guys are talking about the Rip It senior ASA bat along with Combat. We have hit both and like the Rip It better. The Rip It has a more balance swing and dven more performance that the AV, in our opinon.

Discussion: Mikon ultra banned

I agree that sounds silly, banning a bat because of homeruns. By the way, I have the CNT 98, great bat but the Rip It senior ASA is better. Just my two cents worth.

Discussion: walk or pitch

forgot to add that we play with ASA bats only and ASA balls. There are no issues here about alter bats or anything even close, he just hits better than us and so we walk the poor guy. Maybe someone can tell us a better way.

Discussion: walk or pitch

guys, what is the best way to face a super hitter. We have one in our league here in the east valley (AZ), most of us here know who he is. During a game we walked him twice. Then let him hit and boom. So we walked him again. Seems every time we pitch to him we get hurt. So what is the best way to handle this guy. Other teams walk him or pay the price with a homerun or a scary line drive. Is there a better way than just walking him ??

Discussion: Home runs, how far with a normal bat...?

the longest ball I have seen with a ASA ball and bat was at Apache Wells parks in Mesa, Az.
It was just over the street by the church, right a 348ft. It was from the guy that does the clinics.

Discussion: Small knuckle line up ??

I am new to senior softball here and I have question to you hitting guru's out there. But first I would like to give a note of thanks, we are small retirement village in East Mesa (Az) with a poor softball team. We would like to thank Bill Gateley from Rip It for taking the time to come out to our field and give a free hitting clinic. We learned some new tricks and it was fun to watch this guy hits some balls to the moon (they must have been close to 360ft).

My question: What do you guys feel about the lining up of the small knuckles to increase bat speed ?
