Mike:

Give me a call..will definitely be able to put you in contact with some Michigan teams. Ten of the 90 AA/AAA teams attending THEE BUCKEYE CLASSIC this year are from MICHIGAN, so somebody has to know some one.

Give me a call (330) 336-3958

If you are a scorekeeper and on the roster of a 65 AAA team you are considered a 65 AAA player.

So if that team gets moved to MAJOR..that roster gets moved to major and if you are on it, you get moved to major.

You would have to check the rule "on major players allowed" going up but I do think you would not be eligible for your 70 AAA team.

If it was the other way around 70 MAJOR on a 65 AAA team, I believe as long as your 65 AAA team does not exceed the limit of 70 major players allowed you would be ok.

I am certain there are others on this site that can better explain it, however if you are just coaching third and on that team's roster, you get the same rating as the full time players.

TG..what it states is. "(there) were 62 tournaments held EAST OF VEGAS (plus another FIVE which were cancelled)...NOT ONLY FIVE East of Vegas.

Don't know how many west of Vegas or what they drew.

But just in case you are interested in how many tournaments were held at and west of VEGAS, a quick check of the 2013 tournaments looks like around forty-plus....WOW!!!

Discussion: Time to move TOC

You are being a little too tough on the SSUSA TOC tournament, especially considering in 2013 there were only FIVE SENIOR TOURNAMENTS east of VEGAS which drew more than EIGHTY-FIVE MENS' TEAMS to a Tournament.

They were SPA WORLDS 148; SSUA FORT MYERS 132; ISSA MANNASSAS WORLD 88; SSUSA(2014) 87 and THEE SPA BUCKEYE CLASSIC 85.

That is based on the attendance of SIXTY-TWO SENIOR TOURNAMENTS(there were five cancelled) held EAST OF VEGAS.

The only way the TOC will get more attendance is to move it west, so don't fault SSUSA. They had a good showing for an eastern tournament.

Discussion: All the hate on DBO with senior bats...how about this?

Sorry, stand corrected.

Do take exception about your descrpition of "real softball".

Real softball was fast pitch where you had to be good in all aspects of the game not just hitting.

However, that said, the early years of senior softball in the 50's and 55 divisions that was also a great game when home runs were worth bragging about and defense and speed were the top priorities.

I will agree today, the pre-senior softball is the best softball going (unless there are any fast pitch leagues around).

PERL:

Too bad the young guys don't support their opinion by attending the SMOKEY MOUNTAIN CLASSIC.

Two 55 MAJOR and/or PLUS teams attended in 2013 (DOCS and REALITY CHECK). The attendance figure of TWO 55 MAJOR'S ranked that tournament 26th of all other SSUSA, ISSA and SPA tournaments held east of the MISSISSIPPI.

A little better for the 50 PLUS and/or MAJOR as SIX teams showed up (DT EXPRESS, KRYSTAL BALLERS, MID-ATLANTIC, SOUTHERN ELITE, TEAM ARKANSAS and TEAM TENNESSEE). For the 50's attendance at that tournament ranked 11th.

Apparently sometimes when you actually have to vote with entry fee's the polling numbers change.

Discussion: New rule

You can complain all you want to SSUSA and probably SPA and ISSA in ther near future about the FACE MASK RULE. But you will be barking up the wrong tree.

Due to the numerous injuries nationwide (I know, I know you haven't heard about them but the lawyers have), private and public softball complexes are the ones writing the rules.

If organizations wish to use their facilities, they HAVE TO or WILL SOON HAVE to adhere to the face mask rule...and you can bank on the screens are soon to follow.

So don't blame the senior organizations, they are only following the rules and protecting themselves.

Discussion: Players moving form Major

Current standard is you can only move down one rating level from one team to another.

So a AAA may move to AA; a major may move to AAA..a major can not move to AA.

You didn't ask but I don't even know what the time limit (years) is before a Major could move down to AA.

Discussion: roster question

Hi Chuck: Haven't talked with you since THEE BUCKEYE CLASSIC. How are all the GEEZERS doing?

Here is your answer for SPA rules. Your age is determined by birth date in the year starting on January 1 and ending December 31. So if you were born 12/31/39 your age for senior softball this year would be 74.

A 75 team may have FOUR 74's on their roster, so if you are a 74-year young player on a 70 AAA team you may play up on a 75 AAA team, providing they do not have four 74's already on their roster.

A 75+ AAA player may play down on a 70 AAA team.

Hope this answers your question. Hope to see you in JUNE, 2014 in Barberton.

Discussion: Lower Back Pain Home Remedies

Stick:

Going through the same thing right now. Doc gave me muscle relaxing pills and the "happy" pills for pain. It just made the pain tolerable but didn't take care of the cause.

Had x-rays today and scheduled for ultra sound Tuesday. I want to find out what the problem is, then treat it.

Do what you want but I would go to a doctor first before screwing around with home remedies...especially since you are not even sure of what the problem is.

Well I understand Lonnie..that round robin format isn't for everyone, but 82 teams did like it. Also drew 77 last year and 75 the year before.

That is the problem with a round robin when after you are o-4, there is no reason to stay and play your last two game.

It is almost like losing your first two games on Sunday in a double-elimination tournament after losing your two pool games on Saturday and have to go home 0-4.

We'll miss you next year.

While you're at it check THEE BUCKEYE CLASSIC 82 teams All AA and AAA.

When you take the masters and majors from SALEM they have 61 teams and that includes the majors which are playing down as AAA and AAA's playing down as AA.
