Mad Dog,
That's a good idea. All I know is you need something to cover the side of your head in case you flinch which is a distinct possibility when a ball is coming at your mug at 100 mph.
Thanks

Norq44, I also live in NV and only one league that uses Senior Bats requires a mask as far as I know. You don't need them for any others.

I wore the RIP It mask and liked it until Sacramento when I took a line drive off the side of the head. I would recommend a helmet design such as the Worth or The lacrosse mask. I know I will have one before I take the bump again' that is if the wife lets me.

Could not agree more Dave. Would rather have one good tournament in Denver that drew a large number of teams.

Congratulations Dave to you and the Bandits on a Great Tournament. Had to be tough to sit around all day and then have to play a streaking So Cal team. Bandits looked good all weekend.
Congratulations to So Cal on winning 5 straight games on Sunday. You guys played great and are very deserving. Well Done.

I agree with Brock. IMO the teams playing in St. George got the better of it. Complex is one of the finest you will ever play, no baseball fields and the drive isn't a big deal.

Played a lot of games on the baseball field prior to Senior ball and quite a few balls got hit out of that park. It is a lot of ground to cover.

Both are in excellent condition and great places to play softball, unless you get stuck on the baseball fields........................

Big Mike,
If you didn't receive the bats call your credit card company, explain the issue and do a charge back to recover your money.

Hey Dave,
Which fields in Mesquite don't you like the grass or the turf and why? Personally I thing they aren't all that bad. Sure have played on a lot worse.

Discussion: How to get more teams willing to play in the Major-plus division

give them unlimited home runs and longer time limits while keeping home runs over the limit as outs in major. Make it more appealing .

I like the idea of limiting them somewhat in 50 and 55 Major and Major Plus. While having a lot of big guys that can hit the ball 400ft. is an advantage at the plate when they have to run bases there is no advantage. Seems like it balances things out a little

I ump NSA and the rule is the same as ASA. You must start with both feet entirely inside the lines but may finish with both feet simply making contact with any part of the lines. Really a tough call to make unless it it early inn the game or playing on turf fields with the box painted on.

I would limit runners in the 50-55 Major and Major Plus. If you can't run are you really a Major or Major Plus player or are you just a good hitter.

Working in Columbia, MD. for the next two weeks. Would like to get in a little BP either live or cages to prepare for Worlds. Any of you Maryland guys have anything going or know a good place to get some swings?
Thanks

Taits,
Shadow Rock is not bad if you draw the turf fields. The two grass fields aren't good as they don't seem to mow the grass. St George has some nice fields but accommodations are not that good unless you pay a premium price AND you are stuck in St. George which is why some people will actually choose to stay at a garden spot like Mesquite. People want to go and stay in Las Vegas. That is why the tournament is the biggest and best SSUSA has to offer. Why would you want to move iit. Makes no sense.

all the fields listed for the tournament are good fields. there shouldn't be much to complain about. No matter where you put a tournament of this size some teams will end up getting the short stick. Phoenix, Caesar Chavez, St. George, good luck finding a room you can afford and finding a flight into St. George etc. Also this is LVSSA/SSUSA so I doubt it will be moving anytime soon. The reason it is so big is players and there wives want to come to Las Vegas so let's stop complaining and play ball.
It will be a blast as usual.
