Shelbyville Tournament
The Indiana Silver Foxes are having their annual tournament 9/23 - 24 in Shelbyville, Indiana (southeast on Indy). Information is on the SPA website, or you can call Dwain Laird at 317-392-1853. It is a play ahead tournament for the guys that will be old enough next year for your team.

Hi Lefty, I am not Nancy, but to answer your question, it is a SPA Tourney and you can bring your U2, we will be there (Indiana Classics) ,can not tell you how many, but I do believe they have at least 6 teams already in the 50's,, but do not quote me on that, at least the tourney will be held, Rabbit

I just got back from playing in Shelbyville this weekend, we were in a Kids tourney 10 teams and I am proud to say the Indiana Classics show the young boys how the old men can still play softball, winning the whole thing.

Rabbit, tell the truth; you are me (when I am bad). I talked with Dwain, and he told me that there were five in our division, but I can not quite figure that out when we play four teams, but there are two more that we do not play. He has talked with me, and our 55 group has some of the AA 50s mixed in with us. The 50s bracket is pretty strong though. Lefty, I think that you are on Tenne Seniors, and we play you at 12:45. The schedules are hard to read, but I have them. Rabbit, are you playing for us?

Hi Nancy, no we are playing with the big teams this time for some reason, Indiana Legends ( Glen Dickson), ,E.T Sports, Brickyard, Metro Stars a new 50 team from Louisville and us, I do not know of any other 50 teams playing, Dwain told me he moved some AA teams to 55's because he didnt think they could compete with these teams, , All the teams we are playing have picked up some players from other teams,(Major) so I do not know for sure who is who besides the team names and doesnt mean much anymore as you very well know for a fact, but it doesnt matter, we will play anyone, just a tune up for Tampa and next years team, this is our last tourney till then. Hi Nancy, I enjoyed meeting you and the boys last at the first of the year. Yes I will be playing with the Tenn. team. Some real good old boys and pretty good ball players.

Lefty, I look forward to catching up with you again. I found a better map than what Dwain gave me.

What is the schedule for the 55's - TenneSeniors?
I talked to Dwain on Monday and he only told me when our first game was.
Don't know when or who we play after that.
I'm bringing the ragtag bunch from Tennessee.

Thanks

Lefty, the schedule that he sent me took me four pages to find four games; so let me try to figure this out for your team. You play us at 12:45 and Star Drywall at 2:00. Both games are at Blue River Park. On Sunday he shows you playing Indiana Legends/Webb Auto at 12:45 and Porter Paint at 2:00. Both games are at Blue River Park (he has us running back and forth between Kennedy and Blue River). Let me know if you want me to send you this somehow. Thanks, and good luck.

Rained out this weekend.
Call me so I'll know you got this message.
Call Tommy and let him know, I lost his number.

They are going to play it next weekend.
I won't be here next weekend, but if Jerry wants to get it together, tell him to call Dwain by Monday.

Thanks
Dale

Hi Corky, good to hear from, you, I already told Butch , he will not be able to play with us next weekend, Travelodge is going to Vegas next weekend, but this is good that they canceled it, i was a little short on players, some were on vacation, and some had to work, but they will be there next weekend for sure,so it worked out ok for me.There were some strong teams in the 50's, but now, about half of two teams will be in Vegas, so i do not know who is coming back at this time,
It was a good call in cancelling this tourney, going to rain for 3 days and they had 21 teams on 3 diamonds, he could not get it done in a day and still be done before dark . Rabbit

Nancy, please send me a brochure. It's too late for this year, but maybe we can send a couple of teams your way in 2007. Our 24 team organization is the Central Ohio Senior Softball Association (COSSA).
Thanks,

It was a beautiful day for softball. It was nice to play a round robin without all the pressures. This reminds you of what softball is supposed to be all about, recreation. For the 55s, the results were 1. Porter Paints (IN, KY), 2. Metro Drywall (KY), Indy FOG (IN), and Indiana Legends/Webbs Auto Parts (IN). The only thing that could have made the day better was if the team from Tennessee could have been there. We played late; so I do not know how the other age groups finished except for Rabbit's reporting the 50s. Thanks, Dwain, for giving us one more day of play.
