I have had good luck with my tanels. However, the Mizuno 9-spike blast softball cleats-molded look interesting. Has anyone out there tried them??? What do you think???

Gary,

I don’t know about the Mizunos, but I recently purchased a pair of “Boombahs” and they’re great. I wore them for a couple of games and then I put my Tanels back on and it felt like they were made out of wood. I think the site is boombah.com, but I may be wrong. Cheap too, only $49.00. Good luck.

Gary-
I had the 9-spikes in the high top version for a while. They hurt my Achilles and I sold them. I might try them in the low cuts. They were comfortable on my feet, just that the height bore into my Achilles.

The Mizuno wave trainers (low) are also great shoes for infield play. I have a couple of pair and really like them.

I had some Tanels a couple of years ago. I now have Mizuno Wave Trainers and also a pair of Nikes. I am happy with my Wave Trainers and Nikes. I have nothing against the Tanels that I had. Since I usually play first I like turf cleats.

Thanks for the replys guys. I think I might try the Boombahs first. Two of the guys on my team have them and rave about them. However, they are both brain dead and I needed Ken's recomendation to get some. Thanks again.

I have been using the Adidas Turf Hogs for a year now and really like them. As an infielder, comfort from the dirt is important to me as is the feeling that I have good traction in the batter's box. Before I was injured, I liked the way they felt when turning the corner (running the bases) but my team has since 'plattooned me' with courtesy runners.
Some of our outfielders use them and they feel good about them. They did offer them in both the low and mid cuts. I found mine @ www.softballsales.com... $65 range.
There is a guy on GSF (Roland Bleitz) that regularly tests new shoes and he has tried as many as Ismelda Marcos. I always speak with him before I buy any shoes off the web.
