SCSSA 1st Annual Wounded Warrior Project Benifit Tournament - Mach 8-9 Hemet, CA
Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser March 8-9-2014 at Diamond Valley Sports Complex Hemet CA This is a very worthy charity and is in need of your support. Hundreds of our warriors come home each month with severe injuries that drastically change their lives. I believe It is incumbent on all of us to try to help these guys and gals in some way. I came to this organization while watching "The Apprentice" last season. This last November I researched the possibility of doing more. So I filled out the form and we were accepted on December 2nd.

My plan is not only to give a percentage of the net profit but to have a silent auction. I will be looking for Goods and Services for this event. Probably more in the way of goods. So if you have something you think would be of value to somebody else please consider donating it. How it will work: We will display the item and have a clipboard next to it. When a person is interested in the item they put down a bid. The next person behind over bids and so on.

It has been put forth by a manager we do a Home Run Derby at this event too. We would separate the contestants by age 50/55/60. SO... I'm sending out a call to any bat manufacturer that would want to donate a bat for prizes or to auction off please contact me at your earliest.

Please note that 100% of all fund raising is donated to the charity. Not one penny will go to administrative costs.

Have great New Years

Looking for Bat Manufacturers, Reps, Sporting Goods Suppliers and or Stores. This would be an excellent way to show your products and get the word out where to find them. We will be having a Home Run Derby and we need to have some donated prizes for the event. Can we raffle off you're newest and greatest thing??? Press Enterprise Coverage!!! We expect a lot of people to be in attendance so give me a shout if you're interested! Remember this is totally tax deductible.

We have been working on the Home Run Derby. Its our plan to shut down the tournament on Saturday between 11:30 and 12:30. We will hold it on one of the 300 foot fields probably #3 so cars in the parking lot won't be in jeopardy. I have found someone to help manage the HR Derby but Im in need of volunteers to Pitch, help chase and or shag balls in the outfield. Any advice or pointers you have would be helpful as well. No one will be playing during that time frame so if you're interested please contact me. There will be a new (in the wrapper) bat up for grabs to the individual with highest total home runs in the 50/55/60 age group. Email me at: wwm1@adelphia.net

"Jeffrey Adams has always lived his life with integrity. He was just four credit hours away from earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University when things went in a different direction. Instead of walking across the graduation stage wearing a cap and gown, Jeffrey Adams chose to walk the roadsides of Baghdad, Iraq, wearing body armor and a helmet, looking for improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

He found one. Or rather, one found him. The former combat engineer in the Louisiana Army National Guard remembers, “We didn't see anything, so I started to turn, and I blinked. Then I found myself sitting on the ground, missing a leg.”

Nearly 30 surgeries later and a world away, Jeffrey did ultimately make his way across the stage, on crutches, to pick up that diploma. Actually, he did more than that; he showed his fortitude and integrity by delivering the commencement address during the engineering graduation ceremony, too."

Too many stories like this one to put up on the board. We have a week left and could use some more teams to support this very worth cause. Wont you join the other teams and to help the vets that give so much for us

Attention Managers. This is the final day to enter. You have until 12:00 Midnight Friday. If your on the edge and are thinking its decision time. We have room for a few more! The local paper will be covering this as well. You never know you might get your mug on the front page like Craig and O.D. did this morning. www.socalssa.com wwm1@adelphia.net

I think this is a great project. However, I would like to ask an honest question and I am not dishing your efforts.

I saw a little coverage about the wounded warriors program on a news cast. The guy said over $150 million has been taken in and only about $10 million has gone to the soldiers in need. Untold millions have been spent on meetings, salaries etc with no accounting for the rest. I have done some harley fund raising rides for these guys. Do you know if the above stats have any validity. Is the money/medical attention getting to the guys who need it?

What reputable news station was this? MSNBC? CNN? Huffington Post? Gary the fact that you would ask such a question on an open forum is dishing enough! It really begs the question of your motives. A simple Google search would have relieved the web site for the Wounded Warrior Project. I did it for you. Here it is: www.woundedwarriorproject.org The phone number is listed there or you can ask your question via email. For me the Fact that Trace Atkins, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Gary Sinise endorse the charity is good enough for me. It would seem to me if there was anything dubious with this charity any of those men would have exposed it by now.

There's enough rain this weekend to go around so go to somebody else's parade please. A lot of honorable patriotic people are involved in supporting this tournament and I have spent countless hours developing this project. Not to mention the fact that I have had to deal with my share of petty childish thinking people along the way already! So I am in no mood!! I hope your conscience will give you the answers you want but do it elsewhere my friend. God Bless you!

Hoping you raise a lot of money for our often ignored hero's.
Bill O'Reilly has done a fantastic job bringing attention to, and raising a lot of money our warriors for the purchase of track chairs.
A tip of the hat to guys like O'Reilly for helping these guys, a tip of the hat to you also for the part you are doing.

God Bless America and God Bless our troops. You that like throwing BS just because you like stirring the pot should step back and thank my son and every one of his comrades for being between you and whatever comes next.

I support this tournament and this cause because the more light and focus that is brought towards helping our men and women in the field ranks real high on my "Important List".

Ok Marv, You seem to think I am not in support of this project. I have donated over $500 plus more on two harley fund raising rides for just this specific cause and its' HEROS. This may seem like not too much, but I also give support to "4" other charities and Christian ministries on limited income. Also, Harley Davidson clubs are not shy about passing the hat for charity.

The blurp I saw on this really pissed me off thinking that a large portion this $ plus other donors $ could be lining the pockets of some dishonest people. I asked you publicly being you seemed to be someone who was deeply involved in this and might know the facts. Yes, I have seen Gary Senese speak on this project and I know he is really out there. It sounds like you will know exactly where the $ you raise will go and that is good. Just like one of my rides saw the $ go directly to remodeling the home of a wounded warrior for handicap access.

"If" there is some funny business going on, this post and discussion just might cause people in the know to get it right and get the help that the warriors deserve.

I have never cheated a man out of a dime in my life. I don't want the wounded warriors to be cheated.

P.S. I do a lot of parades and you would be shocked as to how much I have done for VFWs, MIAs etc. and their projects over the years and I am not even a veteran.

Thanks for stats Swing. If the $89 million under program expenses above indicates that it went to the HEROs, then it answers my questions and concerns. Thanks
