When were Teams Moved in Class?
I'm just curious on this topic.

On January 30, 2008 my team was still a AAA team

but as of February 1, 2008 my team is now Major.

When were teams moved in class? Are teams that

get moved officially notified of such?

I'm not complaining, just looking for some information.

There were several teams moved in class. Thanks!

When were Teams Moved in Class?
Hi 2awesom, my new Indiana Classics 55's team, that i am starting this year was put in the 55 Major's also,on Jan.28th.2008 and this team has never played a game in the 55's yet, nor have they played together for the most part, they are being confused by my 50 Major team which is called the Indiana Classics 50's,in which we will be playing in the Majors, and I have no problem with that, but not with the 55 team playing in the Majors.I do have a problem with that.
I called and they are suppose to get back with me by Weds and they did not tell me in advance either, just happen to see it,
According to the rules, all new teams start out at the AAA level, then after 3 tourneys they are moved to the correct one, I have no problem with that, but I do have a problem with this move. I would imagine there are a lot more of the teams that were done this way, by just looking at the ratings,
I will post the results of the management decisions later next week after they call me, in which, if they don't ,I will be on the horn to then very soon, I am all for playing by the rules, but they are not right with this move, Rabbit, Indiana Classics

Hi 2Awesom, yes we will be at the TOC week after next, and yes we will be playing in the 50 Major after this tourney, since we won the NSA World Series last summer, in a 8 team tourney, and we also won the Midwest Championships, so that makes us a Major team for 2008, I am looking forward to the challenge as are my players.
But we will be a little short handed in Florida, not all of my players could come to the TOC.,but we are going to have fun, and we will give it all we got, you can count on that.
I will post what they tell me about the ratings on Weds, that is if they call me back. Rabbit

Per SS-USA, new teams are rated based on the last rating/division that 6 or more of the players participated in. If you have 6 or more players rated as Major (played Major or the Team was bumped to Major) the new team is rated Major. The same rule applys to teams that are bumped and break-up (6 or more players are considered the same old team).

Just as a follow-up, i received a letter from Senior Softball in today's mail explaining why my team was moved in class.

I can only assume that the notification just got to me late, anyway all is good!

Rock-On!

There is no way they can rate a new team without looking at the roster, and in my case for my new 55 team, they have not, in fact none of the players have ever played in a Major game (4 guys are 60 years old) and just because you have the same name as the 50 Major team, this is no reason they should be a Major team also, even thou, I am a assistant coach with the 55 team and the head coach of the 50's team, should make no difference , The main reason I am starting the new team, is we are a old team, and I had 17 players all season on my roster, and since we are moving to the major 50's I decided some of the players needed to move up, because they were not going to get to play much and I hate to sit players, ( and they are all loyal teammates) but 17 players was just to much, so I signed 3 or 4 new younger players and moved up some of the older ones so they could get to play, I ask some older players that use to play for me to come back and now we have a team) and that doesn't make them major players. Just good AAA players. All of what you call impact players are still on the 50 Major team. , WE are one big Indiana Classic Family and that is the way I run the organization, most of my players have played with me , except for the younger ones, for over 5 years and up to 10 years. AS most of you know, I follow the rules and come to play . Rabbit Indiana Classics 50's Majors & 55's AAA

ps-and also know the rule about the 6 players, but should you be penealized because you got hot in one tourney.
We finished 9th in the SPA Nationals, but we were the only team besides the winner (Texas Legends that got moved up, your going to tell me the other 7 teams are not major teams? give me a break, they all should be moved up, same goes for all the teams in the NSA Worlds, in which we won, (8 teams entered) they all can play in the Major division, and they can win in it also.
I could be a like a lot of teams, change names ever year and go from there, there are some teams still on the rating board 5 or 6 times , with different names. not to mention a lot of teams that always play down and get away with it. Fair is fair in my book, that is all I ask, a level playing field. Rabbit

To me its a testimony to the quality of a team to get moved up. Its also flattering to have people whine about moving u up. The goal shold be to win at every level. Quit the disclaimers about how your playing at a disadvantage,
(so you have an excuse if you lose) and then bragging if you play well and win. Get over it! If you need assistance call the Hotline at 1-800-waaaaa

Oprah and The View have trivia? I'll have to tune in. By the way, DBAX, to his credit, started the trivia thread when there was a lull in the traffic on this board a few months ago, and it became quite popular.
You are the second person that I've read say they don't like it, but a hell of a lot of others do. If you don't enjoy it, I suggest you don’t read it, just pass on by. Or call your hotline.

sorry to ruffle your fuzzy slippers Ken. Maybe a trivia tab on the main page for you guys who stay home all day, watch TV and knit. I didnt say I didnt like it . The thread just takes up too much room.
To each his own. I hear they need some Operators to answer calls at the hotline.... $3.50 an hour
Thank you very much, I don't read it, just spend to much time getting around it.

Corky, don’t’ worry about my slippers, they’ll come out nicely in the wash. But you got off your tractor just to make that crack? I suggest that if you want to continue our discussion, you can email me at klang1@roadrunner.com, so we don’t hijack this thread.

I agree with Corky. It is so difficult for me to move my index finger and scroll past the trivia. I need to start working out more.

rabbit, you think you have problem's our Jim & Joe's team has been moved to Major Plus. I'm serious it's no joke!!!
. Good luck this week at TOC hope to see you guys Friday nite at the banquet. I see that there is a senior tourney in Nashville 1st weekend in May. It's a shame that there are 2 senior touney's in our area in May and they are on the same weekend. When I saw the date For the Nashville tourney I sent TD a email on 1/2/08 letting him know about Indy Tourney & Ky Derby same weekend and that he would get a lot more teams if date could be moved a week or 2 but I got no reply. Guess to date is already set for 2008 maybe next year it will be later in May.

John Bob, I got the problem solved, I will still have a 50 Major team, that is not a problem, but my new team in the 55's should always start as a AAA,, not a major team especailly since they had never seen a roster. They got confused ,because they have the same name. They have my roster now, and it will pass the rules committe, without a argument, Thanks for posting John Bob, a good luck this year, I do not envy you playing as mostly a 60 year old team in a 55 Major Plus division .

All you can do is give it your best and all will work, there is no use crying over it as some teams do, you underestimate how good you guys are.I know, beause we beat you I think 3 times last year,?? and I was worried in all games when we played you.
