Rules for 2005
Rules for 05': Is USSSA the only association that will allow Florida & Ca to pick up players from outside their borders?

John, I heard again last weekend that there are "exemptions" for major plus players that live in states that don't have a major plus team there.

BruceinGa-Does that rule allow FL and CA to pick up exempt players from outside the state? Bythe way, congratulations to your team for a hard-fought win in Plano!

DoubleL10, what I've heard is just rumors. I have looked online and can't find anything that addressess these "exemptions".
As to our "hard fought win", we had one, against Jim & Joe's, 33 to 34. We placed something like 8th out of 13 AAA teams.
Will you be going to Vegas?

Bruce and LL a whole bunch of us were talking to Ridge about the expemt player rumor and he stated that "I am voting for the exempt player status to stay the same." He also assured us it would and that an exempt player can play for any major plus team. The just have to sign a paper that restricts them to that team and area.

He also said that if the exempt player status is changed and Major plus and major players have to play down it will still be just one level. He said the only problem he knew of is a few major plus players wanting to be exempt when there are teams in their region or state.

the only team that gets to add players outside Ca is Gary Tryhorns team. They have a player from Col.

BruceinGa-My apologies - I must be getting senile as I approach 58! I somehow thought you guys had won the 55 Majors - must have it confused with one you DID win?
In answer to your question, the Houston Texans will not be in Vegas - we are done for the year. I had been invited to go with Mission but will be at my 40th High School reunion this weekend with my wife. We had planned this several months ago, or, you can bet, we WOULD be going to Vegas!
Best of luck to you in glitz-town!

From what I've heard, the Colorado player you mentioned whot plays on Gary's team is an "exempt" player in that there is no Major + team on which he can play in Colorado. We added Bruce Walker to the Houston Texans under the same rule. Bruce, as many of you know, lives in Kansas City, MO.
