ASA Bats
I would like some feedback on ASA bats.

1) What seems to be the most popular (endloaded) ASA bat used in tournament play?
2) Which ASA bat do you prefer to use?
3) If cost was not a factor, which bat would you buy?
4) If cost was a factor, what bat would you buy?

I really like my 2005 Extended, but I'm curious about the other bats on the market. I figure you Senior softball junkies can offer a wealth of information in this area.

Not sure about the EL. I use both types.
Rip It bats Reaper ( watch it cause they have more than just ASA, & Black Rip-It

Easton Synergy Extended & cnt's 's are great also. Multiple versions available on these.

As for cost factors, who knows...

I use the Easton Synergy The blue version of that bat & the red/black Brett Helmer version also, they seem to work well for me, but they are not end loaded.

The TPS Voltage 73V approved by ASA is a unknown
secret.Once broken in it hits like a U2 . Only Sports
Authority sells them or e-bay has a few. Believe me
this is one of the best ASA Bats you can use.

If the Voltage is as good as a lot of players claim then you know it is going to get banned 01/01/09.
I doubt that it is good as an U2 or it would have banned by now same as the Lady Virus was.

IN DENVER OUR WEEKLY LEAGUES REQUIRE ASA BATS. LAST YEAR I USED THE COMBAT ANTI VIRUS BAT. MOST OF MY TEAMATES ALSO USED IT. I HAD END LOADS AND BALANCED IN A FEW DIFFERENT WEIGHTS.
BAT PERFROMED EXCEPTIONALLY WELL AND ALMOST EVERYONE USED THEM OVER THEIR WORTH ASA MAYHEMS, ETC.. BALL CAME OFF IT VERY WELL.

FOR 2009 AT COMBAT WE HAVE A VIRUS MORPHED ASA BAT AND I WILL BE USING THEM. THEY COME IN END LOAD AND BALANCED FROM 26-28 OZ.
NO 30 OZ AS IT WAS A LITTLE TO HOT FOR ASA STANDARDS. SHOULD BE A GREAT BAT FOR ASA.

WITH MOST COMBAT BATS THEY ARE AS HOT AS POSSIBLE TO MEET STANDARDS. REMEMBER THOUGH THAT ASA BATS FOR 09 HAVE TO MEET THE 98 MPH STANDARDS NOT ONLY OUT OF THE WRAPPER BUT ALSO AFTER THEY ARE COMPLETELY BROKEN IN.

SOME COMPANIES (LIKE COMBAT) HAVE DEVELOPED TECHNOLOGIES THAT WILL DO THIS. OTHERS ARE GOING TO HAVE BATS THAT ARE ABOUT 92 MPH OUT OF THE WRAPPER AND WHEN BROKEN IN WILL MEET THE 98 MPH STANDARD. SHOULD BE AN INTERESTING ASA BAT YEAR.

Hey Rooster10 What color is the bat that you speak of? Blue, Red, Green? I found a blue one on ebay but it does not say that it is a 73V, however it does say Voltage.
Found some red & green ones also. thanks in advance.

THE ASA COMBAT VIRUS MORPHED WAS CERTIFIED BY ASA ON 11/19/08. IS THAT THE ONE YOU THOUGHT WAS PENDING?

I have a 27 oz Rip It Reaper - ASA version if anyone wants it. I do not foresee playing ASA again and am willing to sell it for $100 (incl shipping). It's in great condition.

Salio2K: Are you able to make a compairson between the new Morphed and the Anti-Virus. With the new ASA bat testing wouldn't you want to stay away from newly certified bats ?
I used a Anti-Virus last year and ended up breaking two bats in the three ASA leagues during the week. Not much for durability.

angus73.....................SCRAPPY6 is the one speaking of the VIRUS MORPHED. I agree with you about not using the newly certified bats. I currently use the OG Easton Extended. I have also been breaking in a Reebok Dictator (ASA) and am pleasantly surprised with the distance I'm getting. I did not like the Anti-Virus..........too small a sweet spot.

2awesome believe me it hits when broken in as good if not better than any bat on the market.it is definitely the best ASA bat out now.I let a few 50's use it and they could not believe how good is hit.I am not saying it is a U2 but AS
you will not find a better one. They are selling them on e-bay but it has to be 73V.
