April 14, 2009 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Hitting Screen I'm looking for any ideas/info on a hitting screen so I can hit in my yard, etc. I have a batting tee I made but need to find/make a hitting screen set up of some kind. Thanks Ed ed@ewandrews.com |
April 14, 2009 shortly50 Men's 50 41 posts | Ed, I have the juggs instant screen it's 7'x8' & folds up into a 36" pouch. It works great for soft toss, hitting off a tee or just using it as a backstop. about $130 @ baseballsavings.com |

April 22, 2009 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Shortly, Paul and Bruce, Are these screens strong enough to handle balls hit by U-2's over and over off the tee? I want to get a strong unit with longevity. Ed |
April 22, 2009 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Ed, the key word here is "sock". Make sure what ever net you buy is a sock net. I use my MM Combat as well as utrip and asa bats with my net. I've got a Swing Speed Radar set up and so far I reached 103mph and I'm sure that is no problem with net breaking. The way the net works is there is plenty of slack in the net so it deadens the balls. good luck! |
April 22, 2009 shortly50 Men's 50 41 posts | The Juggs screen has plenty of slack and give to deaden the ball off any batted ball, works great |
April 22, 2009 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Ed, you should decide if you want a portable or stationary net. The Atec is stationary. I paid $125 for a used one on eBay. New it is much more. I have mine set up on four 6"x6"'s, two on each side. This raises it to the correct height. email me at b_fairchild@hotmail.com if you want pics. |
