New Baden balls and AX_HANDLE bat
What did everyone thing about the new Baden ball used in Pensacola at the SPA Winter Nationals.
I thought it was a very good ball and held up well when the temps got around 90. Seemed a lot like the Trump Micro-cell with carry and sound off the bat. Would like to see balls of this quality used at all the tournaments.

What about the new AX-HANDLE bat by Baden?
I demo'd one during a batting practice session and thought it hit good for a new bat, hadn't been broken in. Just not sure how it will hold up just hitting one side all the time. It also swung a little light being balanced. Seemed to have pop equal to the orginal Ultra II.

Jim I believe the baden ball would give the dudley advance and the rock we used in Tenn. a run for their money.
Thanks Lenny for the baden ball and a great tourneyment in pensacola. See the both of you next year.

I also liked the new Baden balls. They seemed to carry well and got thru the infield quickly if you put a good lick on the ball. Sound, feel, etc. were of no concern to me (RCF). The nets of field 4 got quite a workout in the 5 games we got to play there.
About the bat, I dry swung it a few times and just don't like the ax handle. Of course, if it turns out to be "the next great thing", I'll get one and get used to it!

Jimmy / Lefty. A few local guys are proud owners of the AXE...They hit with it today and all the batters had very good things to say. I have heard from another source that it will that about 200 - 300 hits before it is broken in.
Lefty you are correct about this ball. We hit that ball before the tourny and decided to use it without making a big fuss about a new ball. I am now selling my usssa balls from Dalton to the local teams so I can get more Badens for next years tournaments. BTW, I made that shoe string catch...LOL, How much did you pay the ump...LMAO.

I’m curious to see that Baden Bat but couldn’t find any info on it. Anyone know where to look?
I remember years ago there was a bat with an oval handle, was suppose to keep your knuckles lined up correctly for the perfect swing. Like many gimmicks it faded away. thebull

I checked the model number on the ball 2SB550YS on the Baden web site and it says it is a 47 core 550 max compression. So that's why it flew and sounded so good. I thought that the stamp on the ball said 44/375 but I'm assuming that these were restamped.

Jimmy, According to the Baden rep, "The ball is a NEW 44/375". We were asked to test the ball at the Winternational and provide feedback. Hopefully they are what they are, 44/375 and not a restamp.

Now which do you think will be cheaper to produce and make available? ... The same ball with the ink stamp changed or a totally new reconstructed ball which is what would need to be done otherwise?
You don't get the same performance with a 47\550 and a 44\375.
Maybe they should supple DeBeer Cork Clinchers in either 14 or 16 inch. Cost 2-3x as much, won't get the distance, but it will sure liven up the chat on here.

All I know is the ball hit well and last a while. The fence was only 275 feet with I'll say a 15 foot fence. So I really could not tell how far the ball was traveling. I was just happy we wasn't hitting a sock ball. To me this baden ball doesn't hit any farther than a good dudley ball or the rock trump ball we used in Nashville, TN. There was no single hitters on our team hitting the Baden over the 275 foot fence.

We played in the lower division 50's in Pensacola and the balls were pretty lively. We were playin on 300' fences up on "somethin Jones Rd." and they were flyin out like crazy. The bat wasn't anything to write home about.

Hey, Joe. Is my man, John Tercheria from Concord hitting with y'all? Say 'hello' to all my old pals and sometime teammates for me. See you on the 'tourney trail' later this year!
