New Temecula and Hemet Tourneys
Great tourney held in June in Temecula.
Fields were superb.
Awards were cash based.
Officiating was also very good with officials accually moving from behind the plate to the middle of the diamond to make calls.
Weather, while in the 90's to 100's in most areas, was in the low 80's with a marine wind.
Look up socalssa.com for more info on future tourneys.

I agree. Great weather and a beautiful facility. They have 2 or 3 more tournaments planned in Temecula then on to Diamond Valley Park. I hear it's a brand new facility with all sodded fields and free RV Parking. I heard someone talking about a Southern California Championship at the end of the year. I see they are posting a cash grand prize then too. Anyone checked out the pictures of the tournament yet on the web site?

Man that is a nice looking Softball Complex. The fields looked and played good. They were water and raked between innings. I really felt that we got lucky with the good weather. I thought that the weather would have been much hotter than it was. Yea, I'm looking forward to the next few Tournaments. It’s nice to have access to another great looking Complex. You are looking good SCSSA. Keep giving out Money for awards. No Cheap VISORS, towels or Balls.

Like our brothers to the north promote NCSSA, we need to start promoting SCSSA here in the south. They are doing a great job of putting this association together for us. We need to support it in anyway we can.
With the great fields, Southern California sunshine, and $$ back for winners.

Also: Don't give the girlfriend the CC and send her to Old Town for the day. Don't have to ask me why I know this :O) Anybody doing the golf thing on Friday that they offer? ... How was it? How is the RV Park. Someone said it's nice. Is it?

Does a SCSSA web site exist that lists the tournaments? Any top teams play in these? Like $$ for winning!

All that participated in this one are here. http://socalssa.com/stats_2.html

Just 20 were there. I believe prize money is based on amount of teams entered. June winners got $175 - runner ups $75 The web site says they are giving out $14,000 this year

Tournaments are here: http://socalssa.com/Dates.html

As for top teams contact them to find out additional teams not listed yet

We participated in the June event and were very pleased with the overall experience. Beautiful facility in Temecula. We will play again in their July event in Menifee, and as often as possible in the future. All of the above comments are accurate; additionally, the event was also very well organized, and ran reasonably on time. Hats off to Donnie Reddig and crew at SCSSA. They listen to feedback and give straight answers on the spot. For starters, home runs are not outs, ever, in SCSSA.

Jawood - As far as I remember the rules were the same as SSUSA with just a couple of exceptions. One of which (tate22) Don Newhard has pointed out. The other I think pertains to the pitching. Not sure on that one though. But when you get the rules you can figure it out for yourself.
