I have spoken with Ken Lipinski 4 or 5 times in the past 2 weeks. After almost 3 decades he is hanging it up. The 50 Major Plus Seacrest Mavericks will be no longer.

Some of the players will play for a new team, some will retire and others will play for other team. The heart and soul of the Mavericks, Ken Lipinski will not be with them.

There is no finer man that I have ever been associated with on or off the field. He certainly should be praised for the accomplishments of his teams on the field, but who he is, is far more important.

There are his critics who want to remember how he was duped by some of his past players, but no one was more hurt by their deception than Ken. We have talked many times about how he thought he should have know, but did not want to believe that they would lie to him.

The rest of us know him as a man of humility, integrity, and generosity. He is always concerned about not just the players on the team, but their family as well. I know he has given time, money and resources to countless players and their families.

I played for Ken for 6 years and if I could get him to coach the team I am on now, I would. Don't think I am not still working on him. I know there is a process on recommending a person for the HOF, but some people should be just AUTOMATIC.

Thanks Boss for asking me to play for the Mavericks and more importantly for being my friend.

Nice tribute, Mike.
I know Ken from an adversarial role
mostly having played for teams
that ran against his clubs.
He's a class guy whether winning
or losing and, more recently,
put together a legendary team of terrific players
that is the Mavericks.
I've heard nothing but accolades
and praise from the guys who play
and have played for him.'
Sounds like a true Hall of Famer
to me.

I have to Agree with Mike and Joe on what has been said about this Man that loves this game of Softball. I also played for Ken and the Maverick family. The Best, simply the Best Organization I have played for. I've played Fast Pitch, Modified, now slow pitch softball. But it was with Ken that I learned to play and carry myself with Class(I HAD TO TONE IT DOWN), He really made me and the team feels like we were the best and we were and still are. He has given a lot of Time and Money to the game of softball and the Organizations that the Mavericks have been associated with. We have won Tourneys and he has given back the prizes, to help out the person that was giving the tournament, I have seen this number of times. He is a giving man, a sensitive man. Yea Mavericks came along way after those 2 players that deceived Ken about their age. I spoke to one of the guys who lied to Ken and from his mouth to me he said that Ken had no Idea, and he even wrote a letter to the Association about that incident. Of course no one wanted to hear it. But Ken didn't run away he came back, Stronger than ever. That is the strength of this Man. He is truly my Mgr Coach of the Decade. LET’S PUT HIM IN THE HALL OF FAME NOW, HE DESERVES IT. COME ON FAMILY LET HEAR ABOUT THIS MAN.
Thanks Mike, it’s a Great Idea.
KENNARD HORSLEY #12 on any team that I’ve played for.
MAVERICK PLAYED 2001-2004 – 2006 & 2007
AND REMEMBER …… MAVERICKS DON’T DIE……… WE MULTIPLY……. HAVE RINGS WE’LL TRAVEL.

Heard they were not having a team last off season but came back and won everything again. Great team! Might actually help the 50 Major-plus division in that they (the brass) can justify moving teams up easier because it will be wide open without them and teams will actually have a chance to win something. There will be a lot of good free agents in California this year!

Well I personally hope the Mav's are able to keep their team intact or add to it for next year. Even though they've thoroughly dominated in the games I've played against them, I enjoy playing against them more than anyone else. Not only the best 50 major plus team but a better bunch of guys--which is a direct tribute to the mgr/sponsor(who I don't know all that well) If they don't stay together congrats on a great run!
