Thanks Joe for your kind endorsement. Are you playing on Bubba's team in 2011?

There may be a conflict here. I've heard that SPA would be holding a qualifier in Jacksonville on that weekend.
Maybe someone in the know would confirm this.

Thanks for the "heads-up" Bruce. SPA has a tentative schedule up on their website; nothing was indicated for Jacksonville right now.
I will probably go ahead with my scheduled date anyway. My tourney is just a little practice thing for the local teams and close-travel teams from Tn and Ga.
If you noticed, I try to make it as in-expensive as possible in order that it not be a burden for everyone getting ready to kick the season off.
However, I hopefully will also have the next weekend reserved if weather intervenes; I will host the youngsters primarily on the first weekend in March, otherwise. Take care and Merry Christmas!

Hey Bubba
SPA has a tournament in Jacksonville Fla that weekend and there are about 12 to 15 more tournament to be posts in Jan. that SPA has been working on. A complete list should be on SPA home page after the ist of the year. There is one more in Ga. to be added and several up north and out west. Hope this helps everyone plan.

Don and Bruce which reebok are you'll
swinging. I was thinking about getting
the 29 end loaded some times early next year. As you'll know I have alot a senior bats. So a few will have to
break before I buy the reebok. Can't
wait.

Thanks for the info JAH44, however, I will probably go ahead with my tourney. I have held this tourney for the past several years and it's primary purpose is simply to get things kicked off for those of us here in the South. Most of the teams around here will not have played for about 4 months, so we are not prepared to participate in a multi-game, multi-day situation. (At least that is the case for my team!)
That is why it is a one-day, 3 game guarantee and a little play-off for those who wish to play a little more.

Lefty, I like the 28el. It has the max endload without any weight added to the handle.

Lefty, If you need to bust some bats so you can get the new Reebok, I'll be happy to drive up to Hendersonville and hit a few with you (JK!). I've been trying to hit off the T in the cold and knocked the end cap out of an old Powerflite bat recently! And the bat is only 15 or so years old! I'll bet it won't take too many swings to break a few of your bats in that cold Tennessee weather!

Larry if the temp. gets in the 50's I'm out their hitting off the tee. I have a few Easton bats that hit well in the cold.

Joe, I'm sitting at my window looking out at the cold; it's around 45 and wintry-looking outside. I've got an old Powerflite (another one!) and a few Eastons I use in the cold. This is one of the main things I miss about living in Houston - I could always find someone to hit and it is not usually this cold there!

6 teams have already contacted me.

Also, Joe (Lefty, Lefty Falcon), you will always be "Cajun Joe" to me! And you do own more bats and break more bats than anyone I know.

We will not play the tourney if it is not at least 50 degrees. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for good weather. This will be about my 8th year for an early tourney; have not missed one yet. Merry Christmas to all; Jesus is the reason for the season.
