Great Proposal
Einstein-please have George email me-we had a great talk when I got here to Tucson Wed, and he wanted to talk more, but he had to go back Thurs and I missed him. weber5069@msn.com
George proposed a 2 region setup-east and west of the Mississippi for M+ with the ok to pick up 2 players from anywhere in that region above and beyond the touching states rule. I proposed the 50-57 and 58-64 divisions. What do you guys think??
Please for once-just once-no attacks, just the facts, ma'am!! :-)

That goes back to basically what the Open rosters were, which is one reason the assn's went to the bordering states thing.
Huntsman is really the only viable place where it works FAIRLY well.
As for just Major plus teams only, it might be a good way to bolster participation. However, there are still far too many tourneys spread out all over, and with a team made up of say half from different states it might be a problem for not only practices, but which ones to go to.
But if it would help them for the majority of teams, it might well be worth a try for a year.

Easy to do, Mark.
I'm not sure what that 2 region set-up
is or means to us vis a vis
East/West of the Mississippi?
We wanted to get Bogie to play with us
the last couple of years but
got hamstrung because of the east/west
stuff.
What's going on and who's on what side?

2 player pick up shot down-other ideas on the table yet, but no changes for now-too many ideas to decide yet.

National rosters were allowed in the late 90s until they got killed off. The problem was there were only 2 or 3 teams at the various national tournaments - even SPA and SSUSA. Our 50 super (or major plus) team only played 1 or 2 other teams at all the big nationals.

DoubleL-George (MTC) and I talked for a long time about this issue. Nobody likes 2-3 team tourneys. We are going to stay in touch over the year and look for specifics where his proposal might have improved things or may have harmed things. I hope they look deeper soon at the 50-57, 58-64 division. Believe me this was a huge issue for them. It is being looked at constantly.

Hey Webbie hope everything is well with you. The only problem I see with the 50-57, 58-64 age groups is playing time and phsical condition of the older players in the groups. I have no problem with it but I actually workout and stay in shape. But, there are those that look forward to going 55 and 60. Mainly, because they feel they have lost a step or 2 and staying down is hurting them and thier team. I like the east/west thing but Major Plus teams ought to just have a draft. Even out the talent, if that is such a big issue.

boston-that is only for the major plus division to enhance it by taking the 58 teams in 3 divisions and make it 2 divisions.

Oh my fault, thought it was for all age groups and divisions. If it is for Major Plus only who cares. Let them fix their own problems.lol

The problems are unique for sure. I wouldn't mind playing a few tournaments Major plus, but would have to leave the Desperados-don't want that-you know what I mean!
