We have a little problem. We have been using a 44/375 in a 55 and over local league. As we know the composite bats get
hotter after use and we are having a safety issue because of the range of skill. We have a mix of recreational and tournament players. Is there a less lively
ball that will stay consistent and come of the bat at a slower speed. any thoughts?

look for the 52-275 ball,it was made for this exact problem.it bounces a touch more ,but if a player is hit by it,there is little damage to the player.it will still carry for the hr hitters.the best one i hear is one made by AD STARR.most mfg'ers do make one tho..

Yes the 52/275 ball is a great ball. It does bounce more because the cor takes over the compression. The impact is way less than that of a 44/375. The impact factor is 1900 lbs. per sq. in. vs. 490 lbs. I would rather get hit with the 490 impact. The key is the ball still travels well for distance. If you can hit you will have no problem with this ball.
Trump, Dudley, A.D. Starr, Worth all make this ball. Good Luck

Anyone have any comment/info on the new 52/300 ball being sold by AD Starr?
Seems kind of strange that they would make both a 52/275 & a 52/300 unless there's more to it than just an extra 25 compression?

There really is not a difference in the balls. The balls will not go over 300 lbs of compression. They will vary a little from the 275 to the 300 but you will not notice the difference in the flight of the ball. Trump came out with the 52/275 first. Then another company came up with 52/300. My belief is they did that so they could sell more balls. That is just my opinion. I know for a fact that there is not much difference in the 275 and 300. The 300 is the high limit the ball can be and 275 the lowest. Why make two balls. You got me. The ball used in the USA game against Canada was a 300 compression. Once tested it was tested at 280 lbs. So be your own judge. Is the 275 and 300 selling techniques or what. The Trump ball is 52/275 with a limit of 300. No matter what name brand you use the ball is a good ball for the game.
