Dec. 19 GeHall44 Men's 55 88 posts | 4pitchwalk Everything looks great EXCEPT for the homerun DBO's after each division's limit. All seniors are used to hitting home runs for singles when the limit is gone. Can you change them to singles? This one thing could keep teams from coming in my opinion especially in the Elite division where guys like to take it deep every time. |
Dec. 21 4pitchwalk 16 posts | I definetely will look at it, my thoughts With the hard ball we are using and the easy bat restrictions, if there are 20 singles in one inning, that doesn't make for a very fun game? I have no problem make the adjustments but would like some more input |
Dec. 21 GeHall44 Men's 55 88 posts | Chris, #1 - A lot of players do not want to change their swing to avoid hitting the ball over the fence. #2 - Changing to a base hit swing often means guys will be going hard up the middle and no one wants that either. I play on a Major Plus team and I know our guys will not want to go to any tourney where there are dead ball outs for homers after the limit. We would rather have the home run singles and have to chase the balls or provide extra balls if necessary. Just my opinion. |
Dec. 21 4pitchwalk 16 posts | Points well taken, we have no adjusted that portion of the rules to read all excess homeruns will be Singles, thanks and just goes to show we are serious about the program and building it for the players! |
Dec. 21 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | chris thanks for listening, the elite should be unlimited and make them chase them LOL,your limits seem fine, the elite group will hit more than 10 i think, maybe give them 12.l like the progressive for the league div, keeps alot of the teams from trying to sneak bombers on to their teams.it also will make the big boys play up in their div they should be long in.are you going to do an equalizer also or the # of hr's only thanks ODB :):) |
Dec. 21 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | oops was reading and seen you will have a force at 2nd and 3rd,its ok but we find we get hurt more that way, lots of feilders not sure where the runner is going and vice-versa.most of us would rather have the slide rule there.. ODB |
Dec. 22 GeHall44 Men's 55 88 posts | Chris, Thanks for listening. We appreciate it. Gary19 - I never said the middle was better or preferred, I was just stating a fact that some people go middle when homers are gone. I personally prefer right or left field for base hits, but have seen way too many pitchers get hit when homers are gone. Keeping homers as singles will keep it just a little safer in my opinion. |

Dec. 23 Smokey20 Men's 55 102 posts | Chris, Fellas. No problem with the Elite and Competitive divisions going to singles after the limits are reached. However ,in the Recreation and League divisions I support these rules, should help hold down the sandbagging, Give's teams a starting point, a place to play without getting their heads beat in. Remember in giving the player what he/she wants we're going to try and keep things as competive as possibles, as safe as possible. With the right to reclass any team at anytime. Brian Crisp |
