| Jan. 14 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | r About 7 years ago I thought I had rotator cuff problems as I couldn't lift my right arm above my head. I went to an orthopedist and he determined that I had bursitis. An anti-inflammatory fixed that. Good luck with your surgery. |
| Jan. 14 BudLeftField 86 posts | r Prepatellar bursa is an inflammation of the frontal knee cap. It can be treated with ice, rest, an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofin, or can be drained with a syringe. It is a good idea to wear a knee pad to pro tect it when playing softball. Good luck. |

| Jan. 15 swing for the fences Men's 50 1224 posts | r update, it's been taken out and Doc said I can play in two weeks if I want... I will give it 4 weeks... In a brace so knee doesn't move for two weeks.. |

| Jan. 20 17Black Men's 60 414 posts | r About 30 years ago when I was in my early 20's, I had this same issue with my knee and kept playing on it. I went to the doc multiple times and they kept draining it, but it would refill with fluid really quick, I mean in a couple days. Darn thing was about the size of a tangerine. NO PAIN though????? It developed into a huge problem, and then I got a staff infection in it. I wound up spending about a week in the hospital hooked up to IV's while they continued to drain the knee, docs actually had to put about a two inch slit in the skin directly over the knee cap, packed it, and kept in from moving. If any athletes have these and ignore it, get it looked at before it turns into staff infection. I wound up with 104 degree fever and my leg was "red hot". Looking back I'm wondering if I got the staff infection, from the multiple times they went in and drained it with a syringe??? |

| Jan. 21 swing for the fences Men's 50 1224 posts | r 7 days after operation had two viles of blood drained.... other than that, everything looks good... have another week in a brace with tight wrap and it should be well on it's way to heeled.. hoping to start hitting in mid feb.. |
