May 4, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: new 85 team forming looking for players DMac: Before the games they give us a direction sheet of how to get to your position. When we do get a hit they have a guide dog to help us get to the base. LOL |

April 12, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Do we pay to play by the hour?? If you really look at it most of the time wasted is between innings. There was a study done (I wish I had kept it) where they played 15 games with and without the 1 and 1 count and the total difference was 15 min. |
April 10, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Rule question Right forgot that part. |
April 9, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Rule question Rule 8.1.C.The ball is dead and runners may not advance unless forced. Ump has to go back to school. |

March 24, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: courtesy runners Not crazy. I know of a couple of teams in my area that do that. They carry 18-20 players with 5 or 6 players who just run. I noticed that the first time I played against them. Just about every batter in the lineup had a courtesy runner. |
March 16, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Bats Discussion: 2-Piece vs 1-Piece Being a long time PST user I find the biggest difference is you have to be a more disciplined hitter and stay away from inside pitches as hitting off the handle will give you nothing whereas a 1-piece bat you may still get a fair hit off the handle. |
Feb. 17, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Intentional walk rule What we have done is to walk a batter you have to have one strike on him/her which gives the batter one shot to hit the ball. |
Feb. 17, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Intentional walk rule Joel: Everything being equal I agree. But when you got studs playing on lower division teams like we do, were they don't belong, they are just inviting Intentional walks from me. When they get upset I just tell them I am not there to satisfy their ego. |
Feb. 15, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: teams looking for players You can still pitch with the mat. Nothing says you have to throw it down the middle. I pitch the same (around the edges) with or without a mat. The thing with the mat I don't have to depend on an ump's judgement to call a strike on the edge of the plate Also with the mat it opens up the whole front edge of the plate for the pitcher. You throw a 6 footer which hits the front edge of the mat and there aren't many hitters that can hit that pitch. |
Feb. 15, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: The Lead Wrist may be Blocking a Powerful Swing. Drills & Fixes Swing Makeover #37 Great series of video's especially the one for 80's. One thing, My buddy who I forwarded it to noticed the link to SSUSA is wrong. |
Feb. 12, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: OKRA FOR POSSIBLE DROP IN GLUCOSE/SUGAR LEVELS FOR DIABETICS ? In the end it comes down to hard work maintaining a good exercise program and diet. There is no easy way. |
Feb. 12, 2016 Fred S | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: teams looking for players There is still an art to pitching with the mat. There are pitchers and there are throwers. Good pitchers have movement on their ball and works the edges of the mat and stays away from the middle of the plate. Throwers are ones that can basically throw strikes down the middle of the plate. |
Feb. 10, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Bats ju25. Your right missed the 2013. Why would they pick that one? I would guess because it says Ultra and they don't know the difference. |

Feb. 10, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Bats Not an Easton person so can't help you but for that price I don't see how you can go wrong. |
Feb. 9, 2016 Fred S | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Bats The Ultra has been banned in ASA since a few months after it came out and that is why the first ones have the ASA stamp on them and the rest don't. If they are the 52's we have had very good results from the Miken Freak52. They now make a balanced and a end load one. Overall IMO most of the new bats for the 52's perform well and just depends on which one you feel comfortable with. You should be able to find 1 or 2 yr old new ones for $175-200. If they are using the 44's then you may want to stay away form the new stamp ASA bats. They perform very well but there is a question of durability with the thinner walls. I just got a Jeff Hall Legit HD52 with the extra .5 end load which shows good promise but haven't used it enough to judge it yet. |
