| Jan. 22, 2009 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Response / Question As far as the airline prices go, Southwest Airlines has very cheap prices when they first put their dates up (about 6 months ahead). You can go from one end of the country to the other for under $200 if you book it early enough (on the internet, of course). The closer you get to the date, the higher the price. |
| Dec. 26, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Should I get an AARP membership and why? I cancelled my membership too. AAA is a much better way to book your hotels. I don't think I benefited once from AARP. |
| Dec. 11, 2008 stattad | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: acia berry Be sure to read these comments from people who either have or have not ordered the stuff and gotten ripped off! http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/acia-berry-c88981.html#comments |
| Dec. 8, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 2009 Tournaments 4 x 4-- I don't buy it. If I had the results in front of me I could fill in the files and upload them in 1-1 1/2 hours. I have even offered to do it for them, but they're not interested. |
| Dec. 4, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Winter Nationals Las Vegas I don't know, but it looks like someone should invest in a laptop! |
| Nov. 9, 2008 stattad | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: It's that time of the year... I, for one, can't imagine anyone being happy with just playing defense and not getting to swing the bat. They wouldn't stay on the team very long. |
| Nov. 4, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: time limit in AZ I tried a few times in Az to move the game along by standing next to the batter's box ready to go as soon as the preceding inning ended. But nothing would move it along. The umpires want their breaks too. |
| Nov. 1, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Winter Nationals Never mind. I was looking for the Winter Worlds. |
| Nov. 1, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Winter Nationals Where are you seeing a list of teams? |
| Oct. 29, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Where were the Chicago teams? I don't know about overall, but we had 2 in the 60 AA division--Chicago Gray Sox and Chicago ATPs. |
| Oct. 27, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Timing It's easy to see why everyone is trying to ignore Dirty's posts. There always seems to be someone like him trying to get the spotlight. |
| Sept. 23, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'N Roll Trivia 6 Dbax, why don't you try one. Mike Nesmith is acknowledged as having made the first music video, Elephant Parts. |
| Sept. 19, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'N Roll Trivia 6 I guess these are harder than I thought. The answer was The Sunrays (I Live for the Sun & Andrea). Maybe this one is easier...For what did ex-Monkee Mike Nesmith win a grammy? (He was the first one to do something) |
| Sept. 18, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'N Roll Trivia 6 Okay, I guess that one was pretty hard. The answer was Bobby Bare. Try this one. Murray Wilson, father of Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, managed what group after Brian fired him from his leadership role? Hint--It was another surf group and managed a couple of hits in the mid-60s. |
| Sept. 17, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'N Roll Trivia 6 Before we move on to another question, here are some lyrics from the song that might jostle your memory (those that don't remember it): So I'd pick my gittar With a great big grin And the money just kept on pourin' in But then one day my Uncle Sam He said (sound of 3 footsteps) Here I am Uncle Sam needs you, boy I'm-a gonna cut your hair Ah-Take this rifle, kid Gimme that gittar, yeah |
| Sept. 16, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'N Roll Trivia 6 Don't know what that means, but let's try this one: In the late 50's there was a song called "The All-American Boy". The label said it was recorded by Bill Parsons, but this was a mistake by the record label company. Who really sang the song? |
| Sept. 16, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: MOUNTAIN VISTA PARK Phoenix If you're a computer geek like me you can download Google Earth (free). Then click on the "hotels" box, and plug in the address of the park. The hotels next to the park will all appear and you can see their names. |
| Sept. 16, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'n Roll Trivia 5 Right, Joncon. I hate to answer another one so soon, but--- his DOG. I even listened to a few other songs from his only album, and they are equally strange. There is one song from the dog's point of view to the master. |
| Sept. 16, 2008 stattad | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rock 'n Roll Trivia 5 I love one-hit wonders. Who did the 1967 hit "Let it All Hang Out"? |
