| March 5, 2011 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: SSUSA Spokane WA Qualifier My team will definitely be there. There should be a lot of NW teams at the tournament since it is the only early season Qualifier in the Northwest. Hope to have some Canadian teams coming down. |

| Feb. 25, 2011 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Equaliizers - Are They Equal? Maybe Not Gary19 - It's not about how you put your pants on, it's how you choose to structure your team. Do you load up with long ball hitters or do you emphasize defense and speed. Face it, every association in the country bases their classifications primarily on power. As you move up in classification you are allowed more home runs. If your team consistently hits their allotment of home runs and hits DBO's and you have some success you WILL be moved up. Mario - If you want,I can loan you a LOG that you won't have to worry about going yard when using. I'm convinced that for a lot of jackers it's an ego thing. It's a selfish way to play the game. I won't play with anyone who puts personal accomplishments ahead of team success. |
| Feb. 24, 2011 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Equaliizers - Are They Equal? Maybe Not This is a controversial subject and there are a lot of different opinions on how to remedy this situation. I do agree with Jay that the Major and Major Plus teams should be combined. Afterall, who wants to spend their time and money to fly across the country to play in a 2 or 3 team tournament? I think that it could be done easily. Just implement the 5 home run rule when a Major team is playing a Major plus team (without the 5 run or extra defensive player handicap) and when two Major plus teams meet they could implement the 10 home run rule. Additionally, I don't understand why more power hitters don't switch to non-senior bats after their team has hit it's limit of home runs. That way you could keep your normal swing and not have to worry about hitting a DBO. I'm not a power hitter but it just makes sense to me. |
| Jan. 16, 2011 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Bumped UP What team are you? I heard that the letters were going out last week. |
| July 22, 2010 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS I agree with DD. Bats get hot and bats go cold. But if you consistently play solid defense and take the outs when they preset themselves, you will have an opportunity to win most games (and Championships). |
| March 2, 2010 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Go USA Hockey Great game! Obviously, Canada was the better team and deserved to win but I am sure that after the U.S. scored their second goal to tie the game every Canadian Hockey fan's butt was puckering! We sure put a scare into them and I think that the U.S. earned a little more respect. It's a young team that will only get better in the coming years as they play together in more international tournaments. |
| Feb. 23, 2010 leftyodoul | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Go USA Hockey Jimmy - It's been great weather for BP here in Seattle as well. Are you planning on bringing your team down to Lacey April 17th & 18th? |
| Feb. 18, 2010 leftyodoul | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Teams Being Bumped Up Someone please enlighten me. I thought that your classification was based on your power (number of Home Run hitters or home runs that you are able to hit in the course of a game). Afterall, as you move up in classification the number of allowable home runs increases. So,you might have a team that is very good at the AAA level but they don't hit home runs very often. Should they be moved up just because they play well at that classification? If they are moved up they then have a decision to make. Do they stay with the same group of guys and most likely get hammered by teams that have more power or do they break up their team and go after other players with more power? Neither option sounds appealing. |

| Feb. 12, 2010 leftyodoul | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 2010 SSUSA Tournaments in Lacey WA RAC I would agree that initial costs would be far greater, but when you think about all of the maintenance costs over many years the disparity in cost narrows considerably. Additionally, you end up having very few weather related cancellations and you don't have to deal with all of the headaches involved in rescheduling, etc. It's just a much better situation for the park, the umpires and all of the players. |
| Feb. 11, 2010 leftyodoul | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 2010 SSUSA Tournaments in Lacey WA RAC Shane - Can you enlighten me as to why the decision was made to put in grass outfields as opposed to making it all turf? Here in the Northwets we have a lot of tournaments rained out on grass fields. I have been told that Lacey drains well but sometimes it is so slick that the conditions are dangerous for play. Seems to me that all new Complexes should be 100% turf. Having a National Qualifier in April on grass fields is very risky. It would be a shame to have teams travel from California to be rained out. |

| July 27, 2009 leftyodoul | Topic: Bats Discussion: Boombah Senior bat I had less than 100 swings on this bat when it broke. I was using 44/375 softballs in 80 degree temperatures. Even my Launch lasted longer than this bat. I have serious concerns about the durability of this bat. I would love to hear what a Boombah Rep. has to say about the durability of the bat. |

| Feb. 11, 2008 leftyodoul | Topic: Bats Discussion: New 2008 Geezer for sale Lefty - The good thing about the Geezer is that it does have a 1 year warranty. The construction is essentially the same as the DeMarini Juggernaut and Juice which are getting great reviews on the various softball websites for their performance and durability. |
